philly already drafted him i thought? they are purchasing the pick from them?
WAKEUPKNICKS2015 @ 6/25/2015 11:27 PM
Very interesting! Give KP a buddy from his old team to help ease him onto the Knicks. Also fills a need. Wonder what we gave up.
Moonangie @ 6/25/2015 11:28 PM
Philly just drafted him. Huh? Berman sucks.
TPercy @ 6/25/2015 11:29 PM
Stash pick, does that mean he will be stashed in Europe or what?
Knicks1969 @ 6/25/2015 11:29 PM
What about the trade exceptions???? Is he going to use them???

I agree about Berman. He also doesn't have sources. If he gets this right he deserves credit.

The 76ers selected Spanish center Guillermo Hernangomez with the 35th pick in the draft, but they promptly traded his rights to the Knicks.
The 6'11 Spaniard played 21.1 minutes per game in the ACB last year, averaging 10.6 points, 6.2 boards, 0.9 steals and 0.4 blocks. Hernangomez is more of an old-school center with his back-to-the-basket style with most of his buckets coming at the rim, and he isn't very athletic. The 21-year-old could wind up being a bench big once he gets on an NBA roster, but we may not see him in the NBA next season.

Damn. I was hoping that we would get someone to go into the rotation now. Eh, either way it is a good asset to have if this is true.

What did it cost us, just cash considerations? Has Philly made a trade in the past 3 years that didn't have a pick coming their way?
VDesai @ 6/25/2015 11:32 PM
Yo not a bad get at all. He was rising up boards. We have plenty of roster spots- are we sure he's getting stashed? he has NBA size

True. Hope we get to see what he looks like in the SL, even if he stays overseas another year.

.@DraftExpress says new Knick Guillermo Hernangomez is a "skilled big man" who could potentially play in the NBA now.

guess we'll see

usually cash for 2nd rounders
nyk4ever @ 6/25/2015 11:37 PM
i would think, if anything, phil would want guillermo in westchester instead of overseas.
VDesai @ 6/25/2015 11:39 PM
We need bodies for the roster. We got a lot of spots to fill. He is a free agent so we don't have to wait to bring him over.

Good call. Groom him in the triangle in the D league then bring him up for next year.

VDesai @ 6/25/2015 11:43 PM
Given he's an FA, if he's not in NYK next year than he's definitely in Westchester. What's up with labeyrie? Is he coming to NY next year?
