Didn't known could use that on here. You're right, that's much more fitting.
He in the sports entertainment industry.
You expect him to be loud.
That's just his schtick- sometimes I agree with him, sometimes I don't- he's just loud.
Sometimes when you have nothing special to say, if you raise your voice or use a lot of inflection you can attract more attention that your words actually deserve. He's a cartoon figure or caricature, full of sound and fury... and frequently signifying nothing.
Pay no mind to that man behind the loud mouth curtain.
I usually appreciate him but I really liked David Aldridge. Wish both guys worked for espn still. Not sure why Stephen A. is on vacation during the biggest week in the nba for talk show speculating (draft, free agency). Espn doesn't have Mel Kiper go on vacation for the draft.
Well Draft isnt until 4 and 1/2 months after the Superbowl in football, the NBA has it immediately after the season, the guy has been traveling constantly since October.

yep recall Melo didnt sign himself to absurd contract $$$ to stay Phil J. did and signed him. If we're going to move into different directions for success improving team then why sign ?
Melo cant stay or sign himself *mistake GM number 1
Totally agree. It was a really bad move to sign him. That doesn't make Screaming A a good analyst. But after a year of MarshMelo especially given he now also carries the injury prone tag Phil maybe heeding his bets and planning for the future instead of what is popularly called win now.
It's a stretch for a 17 win team to be win now. And it's been clear to some of us that Meli won't win anything now or later. We don't need to she on that but U for one like the direction we made instead of making this draft about Melo we made it about the Knicks.
It's a high risk high reward move. It may result in a great player or it may not. But that's how picks go and there's nothing wrong with it. I personally wanted Winslow, he would have contributed more. But I see no need to launch a tirade against Phil because he didn't pick JW

Im thrilled we traded Hardaway , I couldn't stand him. I can't believe Phil got a top 20 pick for him

nope. jackson was forced to sign anthiny to that ridiculous contract by dolan. this draft is about life after anthiny. if melo don't like it or becomes "disgruntled" he can demand a trade and take his brand elsewhere. i am sure there are other teams who would jump at the chance to sign melo with a trade kicker to boot.

That's all you need to say about that moron but i'll add that SAS is just a shock jock who puts on these stupid little acts to get his name out there. He's a tool bag.

Maybe you could have a discussion about Winslow, and maybe Stein, but Stanley Johnson?
His big thing seemed to be about taking someone NBA ready, and not the BPA, it would seem.
He wanted a more immediate change for the franchise.
He's a funny character- but I don't usually take him seriously.
he's a major league clown with a noo yawk accent that somehow lends credibility to his 99% nonsense. his best work, however, can be found here:

Completely agree. DJ checked out to the Raptors and then shows back up around Phil and especially to take continual shots on draft night.

Most of the time I believe Smith is a knowledgeable bball commentator. The stupid stuff he does say usually involves him trying to protect his connections to big name athletes, like Melo.

TripleThreat wrote:SAS is a mouthpiece for Melo and CAA and super agent Leon Rose.
Melo or his cronies clearly become a "league source" when they want someone hatcheted.
Of course Melo is upset, it was none of the players he wanted. He wanted a guy who could defend and do all the defensive dirty work so Melo could bask in the limelight as the primary scorer. If Melo wanted that, he shouldn't have driven Chandler away.
Triple is right about SAS - he's a chump who blathers for CAA et al. The ONLY thing I don't detest about this fool is that he's the only ESPN guy who's actually a NYK fan. And I can understand why he is disgruntled. But he's also wrong and stubbornly refuses to consider what Phil just did, which IMO was a masterful job of laying claim to the future of this organization.
Phil is going to burnish his credentials with this move. And cement a legacy that may be unrivaled in sports. He's going his own way, not kowtowing to elite (one-dimensional) prima donna superstars. In the end, Melo may grow to accept and even understand this move. And we may become a much better team for it.
fishmike@ 6/26/2015 11:15 AM
wow took a project. Thats really some cutting edge commentary from SAS.
WCS - 9ppg 6rebs and ZERO offensive game in 3 years Winslow - a 6'5 guy who played his best ball at PF Mudiay - 15 games of Chinese experience since high school Mario - foreign white guy who shoots 3s, dunks and pouts when he's not playing well
I mean we can do this all day... there was no "established" help now player outside of Frank and maybe WCS, who is totally unproven and has shown no game on the offensive side of the ball.
They are all projects.. we just took one he didnt like

No, Steph was weak, injury prone and couldn't figure out how to score in the paint his first few years. I thought he would be good, but his rookie season nevery screamed MVP to me.

Great point. After his ankle problems we'd have called for his head to be traded!!!! SAS if we passed on Kris could ranted in two years how team has no patience!!!
SAS is captain obvious.

I'm one of the few that like SAS....Because he doesn't have a filter. He lets it all out, and tells it exactly how he feels. Others are so political and only tell you want you want to hear.
But with that said, SAS can be off base at times. And usually when he's this upset about something, he's usually wrong. And he mostlikely overreacted what Phil did on draft day.
I thought Mudiay was the BPA, but getting Grant just neutralized that move. I like Grant better than Mudiay as a right now player. And when Phil said he's not afraid to take a project, it was obvious the pick was Zinger. I think he was leaning towards WCS and Kaminsky, but decided to go upside because he builds his team through free agency, not the draft. He uses the draft for upside talent.
