Yeah I said it!!
holfresh @ 6/26/2015 1:41 AM
I'm coming to terms with the idea of not seeing any good basketball for the next 5 years..I'm good..had some good memories from the Woodson era..
WaltLongmire @ 6/26/2015 1:49 AM

It is hard to fail, but it is worse never to have tried to succeed.

Phil slipped and said we will see in five years then said one year later in the interview..I see Shawn Bradley..Too skinny to man the middle..

He was responding to a "best man in the draft" question. Not sure you can determine that in one or two years.

You just want to see constant improvement from a player.

Why not give him some time?

I'm sure some of you will jump on him if he doesn't meet your expectations in SL, which is just foolish, of course, but we know its going to happen.

cant blame people for skepticism. I agree his upside is very high BUT the risk is just as high.

When he first took over he wasn't talking about give him time to rebuild.. He was talking playoffs..When did that change?..They undermined Woodson in December after he won 54 games..

Isola is relatively positive about the pick and he usually takes any opportunity to take cheap shots.

again who cares about journalists. I understand people who love the pick want the whole fanbase to love it but thats just not realistic

Aside form SAS most of the analysts i've read have been fairly positive. Some said before the draft that they didn't want a guy like WCS or Kaminsky with a limited upside. Well Phil got the guy with the most upside. Can't fault him for swinging for the fences. He looked at all the prospects and this is the guy he felt was the BPA. Not just Mr. Right Now but for the future.

Isola and Berman love to take shots at the Knicks.

I think Isola met Porzingis and was impressed.

These are not guys trying to please the fan base...they're the ones in the front of that pitchfork crowd up above.

Yep. The only grades I have read so far were from cbs. Porzingis was given an A and Grant a B- because they didn't think his talents suited the triangle

Knicks have kinda deserved the shots considering all the silly moves they have made. Tonight was better but its a tiny positive step that needs to continue

Hmmm I wonder what made them say that about Grant? He's a good midrange shooter, drives well, passes well, high BB IQ and he defends. Pretty much spot on for a Triangle player. I really was hoping for Grant or even Payne as a 2nd pick in this draft. Very glad Phil got Grant. I mean 2 1st round picks and a 3rd guy who was slated to go #32 is great IMO.

If we sign Monroe and we show up at 28 wins..Does Phil then deserve to be fired??

FistOfOakley @ 6/26/2015 2:36 AM
porzingis's window to show what he can be is a lot shorter than what everyone thinks... including phil... hopefully he can start and play some meaningful minutes next year... but he's gonna be 20 in a little over a month... so if he's gonna be an allstar he needs to show that he belongs starting in november...

we better not be giving this guy 10 minutes a game...

magicTs @ 6/26/2015 2:39 AM
There are gong to be some Knicks fans eating a lot of humble pie in due course. May not be in 2016 but thats fine, it will be all the sweeter when it happens.
holfresh @ 6/26/2015 2:46 AM
Wasn't Phil advising Detroit when they picked Darko and hired Cheeks??

Think he's been linked to the Morrison, Thabeet, and Flynn picks, too.
