Knicks · Free Agency 2016 (page 1)

Everyone is talking about saving room for 2016 free agents when the cap expands. All I hear about is Kevin Durant. Reality is the Knicks have slim chance of getting him over OKC, Washington, Miami. This is Lebron all over again when the Knicks deluded themselves into thinking he wanted to come to NY. Can anyone tell me what other attractive free agents will be available next year. I see a lot of good free agents available this year. If some of these insists on shorter deals to max out in a year (Butler) then that changes the landscape and recruiting pitch. Who should we be saving our cap space for?

It depends how KP develops and if he shows some skills and hope towards the end the season next year
Along with how we utilize the our cap space with about 28m right now

If we are able to trade CA, I believe it actually will help us and speed up this process
That is if we are able to get a combination of young players, draft picks, and less salary for him to use in FA

There are tons of guys angling to be Free Agents in 2016 because of the cap bump.

Knicks are so far away from needing to worry about that at this point though.

I have a lot more interest in FA 2015

Think positively. Kevin Durant could suffer a debilitating knee injury, in which case he might be available to the Knicks.

Mike Conley is a solid option in 2016. George Hill would also be an amazing triangle fit. He's not a guy worth saving for, but a nice option if all else fails.
