I suppose that their camp thinks that the Rockets will jettison all of their current 4's in an attempt to land Kevin Love or LaMarcus Aldridge. That is the only reason there is for him to go to a team that deep at his position because he'd never see the court otherwise. The Knicks are no model of stability but we at least could've offered that to him.

Morey uses his NO STATE TAX to the fullest
Over the years he tends to collect talent and ship them back out for assets
Wood is a long term prospect and it is unlikely that he will keep him prior to the trade deadline
If he is, I would expect someone to be moved

Usually get the BOTTOM OF THE CRAP with little interest, with our cost of living/PROPERTY whether rent/Houses are the most expensive, probably not enough for these guys if they want a HOUSE for VET MIN's especially for undrafted FA's
And we "share" revenue, its a loophole that must be addressed IMO
Its ok we have Porzingis to work with. Id like to see if we can pick up a couple of 4 year college guys like Atkins and Dez Wells who were not drafted for our SL team.

You're aware of both the jock tax and federal tax deduction from state income taxes, right? Altogether, it's a savings of about $30K per $1 mil in salary.

Where John Wall really elevated his game and Washington gave him the same exact offer prior to him signing with Houston

Yeah, cost of living is a more serious issue than state taxes but you'll never be able to adjust for every factor that impacts the appeal of a city and create a level playing field.
Ariza would be saving about $1 mil total over the life of his contract. Houston offered him 32 mil. We'd have to have offered 33. You get what you pay for - if he cares about the extra 0.25 mil per/yr more than the benefits of NYC, that's his choice. NBA owners from states with high state taxes should make a compelling argument, convince a majority of the teams that it would be in the league's interest to adjust for taxes, and pressure the commissioner to make changes. They've tried and failed to do this. It's a closed case.
I think Wood could be a steal for the Rockets. Thought this was interesting though.

However, he also had the seventh longest wingspan (7-3.25) and the second largest hand width (10.75), which is measured from thumb to pinkie. The former can be changed through proper diet while the latter are desirable tools that aren’t going anywhere.
He has amazing measurements and is really skinny. Not sure why his body fat percentage was so high.

from his workouts... i mean hassan whiteside is as weird as they come and he wound up figuring it out eventually....
there comes a certain point where talent trumps the risk... and guys like wood and cliff alexander have talent and tail end of the first round and the 2nd round there is little risk in taking a chance on those kind of guys...
