Okay. I'm crazy, delusional and ridiculous. Follow me though.
I trade Zinger and Calderon to Orlando for Hezonja. Orlando needed a backup PG, they have Oladipo in front of Hezonja on the depth chart and are otherwise starting Channing Frye at PF. They 'trade up' like they wanted, we trade down to dump salary.
Here's why. I then pitch Jordan and Aldridge together. They should team up, whether it is to LA, Dallas, or wherever (like here). I put all my eggs in one basket here, hoping that these guys will each take 2.6M less than their max on a 1&1 contract knowing they can opt out next year and get paid as non-bird vets on the increased salary cap. Honestly, I don't know if they do it. But that starting 5 is nasty and has defense at every position except SF. Like Miami did, I can fill in the rest of the roster with D League all stars, vet minimum free agents, and one lucky player can have the Room Exception of about $2.7mm

My problem in this scenario is Melo and Aldridge playing together..
Nice idea but this would've happened on draft day. At this point I don't think it's realistic.
It could also be Calderon & Zinger for Super Mario & Tobias (sign & trade)

Cap space was not there on draft day.
Also Mario buyout is now complete. Just watched some highlights of this dude. He & Grant could potentially form a lethal back court.
nixluva if this trade happens, what will you have to say about it?
TPercy wrote:My problem in this scenario is Melo and Aldridge playing together..
You could say that about Melo and any other player.
My problem is having two rookies in the back court not to mention Euro bust factor.

So you took the rumors of what the Lakers were trying to do that were around yesterday and used it for us. The Lakers were supposedly trying to get rid of contracts like N.Young and others so they could sign both D.Jordan and LMA.

What a boooooring team.
Not sure how this group can play any team bbal.
If you want this for fantasy bbal zo this should work great.
The Magic can have them. Let's not try this on the Knicks.
It blows my mind that people still want to construct teams like this. This team wouldn't work, it'd be a nightmare.

Why are you addressing me in a thread I haven't commented in? I just happened to see this just now and i'm at a loss for why you're even thinking about what I might think? Who cares what I might think about some unlikely trade? No Comment and please get a life.

The team we had last year was a nightmare. This one would be a pretty darn good squad. Though next to impossible to put together in reality (though Riles did something similarly audacious with the Bosh and LBJ signing back then). Its key weakness: lack of veteran savvy and leadership at the primary ballhandler position. If we can get a steady veteran PG for a minimum, I would be all for it. But it's a big IF.
Rolling the dice with Zinger, not trading him. Rebuild is rebuild, not deck chairs on the Titanic.
What if we traded calderone to Indiana for Hubert and wooed Aldridge and picks up a solid SG?
What if we all woke up and talked about real world basketball. I see that we will overpay for Monroe, Afflalo and robin Lopez. And we will bring back Amu dion, Bags, Smith. Watch

Pretty much. Not sure it was an original Laker thought. Its easier for them to pull off because they didn't just draft a stretch 4.
