If we sign him does that mean the end for galloway or calderon??
earthmansurfer @ 7/1/2015 2:56 AM
Link as I see nothing?

I doubt we spend money on a PG (without moving Calderon). I imagine we are looking for a more true SG though...

I would say maybe it means the end of Calderon- perhaps trade him to the Rockets for Beverley.

A S and trade good work. Caledron would fit very well with that rockets team.

nobody wants calderon. Maybe next year when he is a expiring contract

I can't see anyone taking him now. Maybe at the trade deadline if his play improves some

I think if they signed Beverly, we'd basically just have a bunch of interchangeable guards at the 1 and 2 with Galloway, Grant and Beverly...

This is sort of a weird move for the Knicks. Maybe it's hedging if they strike out elsewhere...

If Carderon was swapped out for a SG that could create. Then it would be a well balanced guard core. Galloway and Beverly are 3 & D. Grant can create. Would need one more like Grant.

He's a good shooter, and thats all the rage now after these finals- do not be surprised

I love PBev's defense and tenacity. What I don't like about PBev is his low bball IQ. I don't think he will be able to grasp the triangle.

Beverly fits more with Phil's traditional type of PG- defender who can shoot the 3, doesn't really have to be a creator. If you pick him up though, you definitely need to add a big who is a good passer or a SG who can pass/create.

I'm not super familiar with Beverly. I heard he was a good defender and could distribute ok. Can he be a combo guard or is he more of a pg? (I thought the later but your post implies the former.)

I would rather have anyone over Calderon just due to his lack of defense. I really think we have to build a good defensive team, lean in that direction and get adequate offensive players.
I think Grant is gonna shine both ways though.
