Knicks · Splitter traded to Atlanta (page 1)

Atlanta is no joke--they gave up Carroll but retained Millsap and added Splitter

We shouldve gotten in on this. Splitter makes 8mm for 1 year.

Hey they have the best 3 point shooting in the east by a margin. Adding the extra big was smart. They also have Tavaraes coming in Musclaa will get better--they have a BIG frontline.

Vmart @ 7/1/2015 12:46 PM
Can you say Spurs east.
crzymdups @ 7/1/2015 12:51 PM
Don't mess around with Coach Budz. He's very smart.
franco12 @ 7/1/2015 12:51 PM
I like Splitter- he may have been better fit/value than Monroe.

Did Atlanta give anything up, or just a trade exception?

This is why I don't want us to give out desperate deals - keep cap room and get paid by other teams for helping them free up salary

This is an insider trade.

Atlanta's frontline as of now

Al Horford
Paul Millsap
Tiago Splitter
Mike Muscala
Walter Taveras

Thats easily the best in the east.

I'm glad Phil has lots of friends out there.

I'm confused, Atlanta retained Millsap? Haven't seen that, is there an update?

Knixkik @ 7/1/2015 12:57 PM
Millsap resigned?

I thought he was still contemplating between Atlanta and Orlando.

Carroll was a major part of that Atlanta team. He was their best defender and wing. As for Splitter he's not that nice.

Carroll on the Raptors is going to be annoying though when the knicks face them and he D's up Melo.

in the playoffs i'd rather have splitter protecting the paint and rim than carroll defending lebron on the wing. good acquisition by atlanta. makes them bigger and tougher. splitter is an underrated interior passer too.
