Same here- Quite obvious that you were not in love with him as soon as I saw the cons.

He's an option--Jordan Bachnyski is very similar though and he'd cost even less. Nbadraft.net compares Bachnyski to Withey and I agree. Essentially the same player with the same main strength--rim protection. Cap mgmt. is beyond important. I can't see overpaying anyone if I can get basically the same thing elsewhere for less and this esp. goes for role players...How 'bout instead of asking Greg Monroe to take less (I mean this dude's already a deal for his reduced max) we look at a guy like Bachnyski instead of Withey for a backup C/shot-blocker and look to make up the difference that way.

Come on, Ned. You think everyone sucks. Lol. He's not bad. The man's actually a very good shot-blocker and would definitely have an impact in this area if he ever got enough playing time...He's a decent enough rebounder, looks coordinated on offense, real effective role player at the college level..Bachnyski's the better buy though--you'd get the same thing for cheaper with Bachnyski.

no i was big on Ajinca. I really wanted him. i thought he was a realistic get. so that disappointed me.

again, i watched a lot of pelicans games. withey and ajinca started off even on the depth chart but thenajinca BURIED withey for good. he's a walking foulout-disqualification with stone mittens for hands

Can't wait to see this Ovidijus Galdikas in SL. Another guy that could be very similar and would cost less. If we're looking to tighten the belt with the cap and conserve as much room as possible, we should be looking at guys like Galdikas and Bachnyski over Withey for that type of player.
