Signing Robin Lopez? Watch the Lakers sign him while the Knicks are in this meeting.

same
If Lopez can turn up his offense just a bit--hed be a good piece. Remember Aldridge takes most of their low post scoring. Maybe we can give Lopez a bigger opportunity?

Agreed.
But, I mean, basically the Knicks have to hope he misses hanging out with his brother.

I do to literally every time.
R Lopez is probably trying to see if he can squeeze a little more money out of the Knicks with another team being in the mix. The report is that he was very interested in the Knicks, so I would guess that they want to see how things shake out and if they can get a little more if the Knicks strike out with the other top bigs left on the board.
i'm cool with robin. if we strike out on him the knicks should target koufos whose similar with a slightly better offense
Do the Blazer re-sign Lopez after the Plumlee deal? Wojnarowski said they still have the flexibility to do so in last article about the Ed Davis signing.

This is from the NBA player tracking data. They were at 55.1% when Greg Monroe was under the rim, which is pretty bad. I think average is around 52 or 53%. For a lot of reasons, I'm thinking for half the price Lopez is a better deal than Monroe.
Well, there is no question Lopez is a better defender than Monroe. However, Monroe is going to help this offense a lot with his passing and ability to score. I read about the stat you cited but in the same espn article, they said that Detroit actually played better overall defense with Monroe at center, which is the position he would play here, with Zing the future PF. If it is a choice between giving Lopez $13 million or giving Monroe $15.5 million, I think you have to go with Monroe. However, if we can get Lopez for $10 million, I would probably take him and save the cap space for another supermax player next year.
I think the full max for Monroe is going to be closer to 17 mil but I agree with what you're saying overall.
Lopez at $10 mil will be a steal after how well he is gonna do the next few seasons.... I like Lopez a lot hes only what 26? Hes smart and hard working Id take him over Monroe period.
