Yeah Sacramento sent those players to Philly for 2omm in cap space.
newyorknewyork@ 7/2/2015 12:00 AM
Stauskas wasn't worth that. Philly's eating 25mil and gave up assets strictly for Stauskas who hardly produced at all last season??
Unless they think Laundry and Thompson will be productive for them on I guess now peanut contracts???
stopstandthere@ 7/2/2015 12:05 AM
so what is the mysterious Philly going to do? Could Hinkie shed a light?
smackeddog@ 7/2/2015 4:56 AM
What a horrific trade for the King's, they give up on Stauskas, AND give up a future first AND 2 future first round swaps, to clear space to sign broken down bad attitude rondo and damaged goods Wes. What a dumb franchise- which we'd done the deal instead of the sixers.

Yeah, really big chance. Been down that road... They must have Rondo and West waiting but they don't have many years left.
VCoug@ 7/2/2015 6:44 AM
Shit. We should've been in on that. Would've gotten A decent prospect in Stauskas plus those picks. All for $16M in cap space. And Landry and Thompson only have two years left on their contracts. Damn!

I see, I didn't know they were also giving up 2 future first and 2nd. Now it makes sense for Philly.

I thought it would be a good deal for us too. But PHil is still trying to get FAs that will get us into the playoffs next year. This deal would have probably improved the roster, but it would not have moved the needle enough to move us into the definite playoff picture. Philly could do the deal now, because they have no intention of making the playoffs next year, unless that just get lucky and their team (through youth development) turns out better than expected. It would have been a nice trade, but I can understand why the Knicks did not look into, assuming they even knew it was a possibility.

C'mon, the Knicks could not have made this trade at this point. Total rebuilding move and without our pick next year? You would be giving away our cap room for this year. If we made this trade then we need to trade Melo next. Can't do this trade without our pick next year.
H1AND1@ 7/2/2015 10:43 AM
Ranadive might be worse than Dolan. With all the Karl drama, and letting it leak that he's talking to Cal less than 6 months after hiring Karl, etc. What a mess.
Worse yet, last year he basically overruled his basketball people and demanded they draft Stauskus over Elfrid Payton and now they dumped Staukus PLUS another 1st to draft Rondo who is basically the older, injured, more ornery version of Rondo. Seriously WTF.
STAUSKUS! STAUSKUS!
mreinman@ 7/2/2015 10:47 AM
Hinkie pulls off another doozy
CrushAlot@ 7/2/2015 11:05 AM
Apparently Sixers are keeping Landry and Thompson. What does the sixers roster look like? Seems like they have a ton of guys on their roster and in the wings.
crzymdups@ 7/2/2015 11:08 AM
Knicks should look into these types of trades. We have cap room now. We also have it to use during the trade deadline and what not if we hold on to it.

Seriously this guy must have dirt on other GM's. Or maybe he threatens their families? Or maybe GM's are just DUMB? I dont get it. They just hand over picks. Its incredible.

Yes we could have. We just missed out on Monroe and we're not getting LMA or DJ. I'd rather have this collection of assets than Enes Kanter or Robin Lopez or Aaron Afflalo.
