Knicks · Steam clean the carpets again and keep saving for hard wood floors - instead of buying laminate flooring now :) (page 1)

Assuming things don't work out with Monroe (or LA, DJordan, etc) - what about Jordan Hill as a less expensive option? He's serviceable and athletic. Also, Blatche or Thomas Robinson may also be inexpensive short-term options. I'm fine with resigning Bargs (cheap), Cole, L.Thomas, etc - but we definitely need some new bodies...

SG's that may be worth a look - Austin Rivers, J.Fredette, Marco Bellinelli and if we were able to spend a little more - Gerald Green

A possible combo of Jordan Hill and a Bellinelli/Austin Rivers may allow us to stay ready for next year's free agent crop, without putting forth too much money on a 2nd or 3rd tier free agent (eg Affalo, Josh Smith, Lou Williams). I'd rather go this direction if we don't sign a significant starting free agent.

I think we could get David Lee Looney and a draft pick from GS. I can think of many worse things than having D lee as our starting PF for 1 year. Hes smart highly skilled and Im sure getting his body ready this offseason. If we can get Looney and a 2016 pick--why would it be terrible?

Philly just did the same thing for Staukus. Atleast Lee can play.

That wouldn't be a bad outcome.

Getting Looney and a 2016 draft pick would be a real help in the rebuilding process. David Lee can play right now--hes a great passer he can get 16-18 points and grab 9-11 rebounds. We need to think outside the box and use the cap space the best way possible. Lee builds his value and we might be able to trade him 1/2 through if were not going well.

not a bad idea Briggs

the draft pick will be a very low first right?

Sounds like you already have a plan...whose going to take him out?

IDK - i think the playoffs showed them that they need Lee more than Bogut.the we're times Lee was the only functional offense they had when Delly and Shump were going nuts on defense.

Is Hill an FA? He has some decent and some worrisome advance stats. He's adequate.
BRIGGS @ 7/2/2015 7:44 AM
Wow Philly did pretty good here

The 76ers receive a protected first round pick from the Kings and also get swap rights with Sacramento in the first round of two other drafts, per Zach Lowe.

So they got Staukus who was just pick #8 a first round pick and the dreaded pick swap TWICE. If a team has a cataclysmic failure--like we have had the pick swap is like an unrestricted pick
