Knicks · Monroe to the Bucks as per Woj (page 4)

MS @ 7/2/2015 11:35 AM
Phil sucks, plain and simple. He made two horrible trades, fisher isn't helping anyone and didn't have an accurate gauge of the market.

Had we kept the team we had we draft Justice Winslow, because he fell to 10. Phil added cap, didn't clear it. I would rather Felton at 4MM than Calderon at 7MM and 7.7MM. No one showed any interest in him, but Chandler can get 52MM on the open market.

We just lost a free agent to Bucks?! You're a coach, not a GM, you're selling a system and asking guys to take less when scrubs are getting 7-10MM on the open market.

Isola knows squat. He was the one who said that the knicks and monroe were a done deal.

Anyhow the bucks make more sense for monroe they have a lot of length so he wouldn't be asked to guard the rim alone it could be a team effort.

Who said that the Knicks were an attractive team???

crzymdups wrote:Yeah, reports Phil did not offer Monroe the max. I think if he had, Monroe would have signed immediately. Offering him less than the max to come to a losing team... oh well. Not a huge mistake, to me it is really questionable if Monroe is a max guy.

"I THINK IF HE HAD"????? Ok, where do you get this impression?

We showed him love by being first on his door step. I have to say that Milwaukee has a very impressive line up and he was a finishing piece. For those who think change can't happen look at milwaukee. Change of owner bought in a new culture and after few high picks and some crafty trades with assets on the books they are moving into top 6 team in the east.

Its obvious that Monroe had max money waiting for him in a few cities. Until I hear "Monroe was set for ny until phil did not offer him max" then I have to ask why? But to just insinuate that we know what Greg Monroe is thinking is a bit presumptive.

We all want a starphuch moment. This guy chose to play with Jabari, the freak, MCW and Jason Kidd. As long as his best interests don't conflict with ours I wish him all the best.
Maybe we make our big splash next year or we trade melo and keep rebuilding.

Bottom line is not worth getting upset nor is redundant negative rants gonna get me riled up.

Im off on two week vacation. Knicks don't pay my mortgage or put my kids thru school. Until then its just entertainment.

Beck saying Knicks offered the max Wojo saying they didn't. Interesting. Two of the best. Not sure what to believe here.

He is building the team he wants. Monroe's abilty to pass would have helped in triangle but he isnt a rim protector or average defender, Jax not talking max spoke volumes. No big loss

I would trust Woj a lot more than Beck, tbh

I agree. Wojo has better sources. Hope that was why he didn't sign.

It's still up in the air how this off season ends up. There are still good players out there. Better to wait and see how this works out.

This guy if given a chance would dominate the east. So may people are missing that he avg 20-11 in 30 min with OKC and hes 22. He can be absolutely dominant offensively and rebounding the ball

I thought we had the best Black Book in the league between Phil & Melo. I guess not since we are losing players to Milwaukee and Toronto

yellowboy90 @ 7/2/2015 11:46 AM
Phil just struck out. You do not go to Monroe 1st if you didn't want him bad. Monore chose to go to a better situation for him. This is on phil

I would believe Wojo of the national Yahoo sports over a New York beat writer trying to stay on Phil's good side

Phil did say his plan was to add 3 players who weren't big names, but who fit the system while not overpaying. He's sticking to his plan- most of the people who blasted 2010 should appreciate this.

Next year is going to be another depressing year when we have to relinquish our lottery pick again. Why do I keep coming back to this team

Better hope KP can start and be a 7'2 Ak-47 defensively

This is the new NBA. With the cap esculating you need to lock guys in.

Whose left? Harris, Jordan, Matthews. Carroll got 16MM, Middleton 16MM, Green 17MM. The Bucks have young players at three positions, a playoff team and now a quality big. you have to be prepared to win battles within the conference.

We are going into next offseason, with an older pg and sf and a hope and prayer. Zinger doesn't pan out this franchise is finished. That's not even dramatic. We trade away picks like they are worthless year after year for garbage players and then believe we are a marquee franchise, when in fact we are one of the worst in all four major sports. We have had 4 winning franchise in 15 years. How long did it take the clippers to become a destination or a competitive team? That's what you need to protect yourself against.

Look at it this way. Monroe came to us first. He wanted to be here and did not expect to be lowballed. Same way LMA went to SA first. LeBron went to Miami first
