I would love Caron Butler on the Knicks. He has always been a favorite of mine since he was slighted on draft night.

You know what Caron Butler is well past his prime and he is a Uconn alum. Id love to have him even if he was 50% of hat he was. I think we should go in a different direction.

James Johnson (2.5m and trade) and Wesley Johnson (sign to a 4-6m deal) would be realistic and ideal

For a vet min gamble, Jeremy Evans who has great length/athleticsm and like Carroll came from Utah and their development staff with Millsap

Don't worry. JR Smith is a free agent.

On the serious side, it's too bad we didn't make a play for Jared Dudley. It only cost a second rounder.

Simply substitute the name DeAndre Jordan for Robin Lopez if Lopez is not signed in the near future.

That should make it easier for you to deal with.

Calderon is probably starting. Also, I think the Knicks have one or two more signings before they are down to league minimum deals. Hoping they get Caron Butler on a small deal or vet minimum. Knicks still have around 8 mil in cap space if they don't stretch Jose.

Don't forget they will also have the Room Exception of about $2.7 mil.

Lopez is overpaid at that price, he is worth 8-10m at best, 11m is overpaying but only for a short term deal
With that said, offer 8m-9m, above what Ed Davis is making, 2x more than Lavoy Allen,
and see who is willing to take it first with Koufus or Lopez, and do a 3-4year deal with team option partial guaranteed for 4th
WE NEED to be able to sign a LOWER MAX LIKE contract for Tobias Harris/Ernes Kanter with either 4year or 3year deal like Parsons

I would rather get D LEAGUE talent for these Centers left than OVERPAY for them, 12-13m while Monroe is 15m is RETARDED, we probably could have got Monroe at starting salary at 14m - 14.5m with raises had we not made him wait

Rather use our cap space with Thabeet and McGee on 2year vet min deals, or Larry Sanders on a partial guarantee/non guaranteed till a specific date on a vet min deal
And Jermaine Oneil on a VET MIN deal for "leadership"

And use cap space to absorb bad contracts as well, as CA will ask for a trade, with Houston striking out, they could pay up for him as I have reported half a year ago....

Wesley Johnson OVER Affalo as well and still feel we should target him though
For Affalo, we should pay him less this year and with a raise, like 7.5m and raise, for a bit more flexibility than 2year 8m....

If we use up most of our cap space, Cole Aldrich could allow us to have the FULL MLE vs just the room exemption, as we own his Early Bird rights and can pay him to go over cap
