Knicks · Well that gives us two 7 footers (page 2)

Lopez is overpaid at that price, he is worth 8-10m at best, 11m is overpaying but only for a short term deal
With that said, offer 8m-9m, above what Ed Davis is making, 2x more than Lavoy Allen,
and see who is willing to take it first with Koufus or Lopez, and do a 3-4year deal with team option partial guaranteed for 4th
WE NEED to be able to sign a LOWER MAX LIKE contract for Tobias Harris/Ernes Kanter with either 4year or 3year deal like Parsons

I would rather get D LEAGUE talent for these Centers left than OVERPAY for them, 12-13m while Monroe is 15m is RETARDED, we probably could have got Monroe at starting salary at 14m - 14.5m with raises had we not made him wait

Rather use our cap space with Thabeet and McGee on 2year vet min deals, or Larry Sanders on a partial guarantee/non guaranteed till a specific date on a vet min deal
And Jermaine Oneil on a VET MIN deal for "leadership"

And use cap space to absorb bad contracts as well, as CA will ask for a trade, with Houston striking out, they could pay up for him as I have reported half a year ago....

Wesley Johnson OVER Affalo as well and still feel we should target him though
For Affalo, we should pay him less this year and with a raise, like 7.5m and raise, for a bit more flexibility than 2year 8m....

If we use up most of our cap space, Cole Aldrich could allow us to have the FULL MLE vs just the room exemption, as we own his Early Bird rights and can pay him to go over cap

And would rather START Biyombo at the 5 for a discount, from 4-5m 4year deal with Koufous as well for VALUE players
We could possibly sign 2 players for the price of Robin Lopez, Phil Jackson paying players to "fit his system" is REALLY ANNOYING, NO ONE CARES FOR YOUR TRIANGLE WITHOUT TALENT

if LA wants to play PF, we could get cheaper Centers, expecting him to play Center was a HORRIBLE move, as he has stated it in the past
With Monroe and LA, they both would be interchangeable and give us the best rebounding/post players/solid IQ and can facilitate as well, with the size to work The Triangle

Those players with some vet min players like Thabeet/McGee/Sanders, would have still been better than what we currently have

I see no point in making Affalo the first signing...
Acquire TALENT before fully executing a system, stop making it about the Triangle, and ADD TALENT FIRST

I think they thought Monroe was a done deal.

Looking forward to seeing how RoLo and KP. so much length inside and help D.
Things are taking shape and Phil's not done yet. Patience is a virtue.

If Lopez signs for $12-$13m then that leaves about $8-$9m left. They can bring back Jordan Hill to compliment Lopez or split the money and get versatile depth. How about Kyle O'Quinn (6'10) who can play 4 and spot minutes at 5. Also either Omri Casspi (6'8 40% 3's) or Wesley Johnson (athletic swingman). Also bring back Aldrich and Jason Smith at vet minimums.

O'Quinn is a bit of a tease. I like him a lot but he always disappoints me. I wouldn't mind if the Knicks gave him a shot maybe with a team option.

There were rumors that Orlando had interest in Acey and I think we could use Kyle Oquin as an undersized Center, maybe a for both swaps?

Lopez just does not make sense at that amount unless it is a 1year deal actually a 2year deal with team option for 2nd as a trading chip with NOTHING guaranteed for 2nd year

Not sure Jackson would want some of the players you mentioned... and I think Phil would say:

I don’t think the offensive system has to take a back seat to anything we do.

We’re looking for people who want to play a full basketball game, that want to be able to make plays, that want to be able to do things that are a credit to their skills. I think people that want to play the full game have seen that demonstrated, and if they’re interested in doing that, they know that this system can feature what they can do.

Guys who want to play basketball and feel comfortable with their skills should understand that there is ample opportunity to play a game that’s an evolved game. It’s a thinking man’s game. It’s a logical game.

I think Porzingas can be among the league leaders in blocks once he gets a little stronger. I've been watching his Euro games on Youtube and the guy covers a lot of ground quickly and has some great length, he can be disruptive. Just downloaded the game where Willie had 29 and 13 going to cut up a highlight lowlight
