and if I know the guy

I think he'll come back to NY for a vet minimum. He loves NY. Id love to have Lee here in that form. He could be a great helper

him lopez would be a good front line. lopez would make up for alot of his defensive deficiencies and that is one hell of a rebounding front court, especially when you add in melo at the 3.
I'd actually love a lee Lopez front line more then a Lopez Monroe 10 times outa 10
Could the Knicks trade Jose for Lee straight up and get a trade exception. If the warriors took Jose I don't think they would need to send back a pick.
Can we waive Bargs first?

I think Bargs is unrestricted.
D Lee would be nice vet minimum pickup if waived. If GS would take back Calderon contract, that could open up possibility for Beverley.
On a low contract, Lee would be a fantastic pickup.
I was hoping we could get Lee and Looney but Afflalo's contract takes up too much of our cap to pull that off if we add Lopez.
Would love Lee. But the Warriors best beat writer wrote an article that they are being patient with him because they think when teams miss out in FA they will trade for Lee without demanding any extra assets.
Could definitely see the Lakers doing this.
If he gets bought out or stretched somehow, he'd be a great pickup.
I don't think he'll be waived, but I suppose if he gets impatient with getting 13 minutes a game when he should get getting 30, he could put up a fuss behind the scenes.
I saw something where it said golden state was going to wait and see who struck out in free agency and hope to move him there without giving up an asset. I think he is good enough that this could happen. Morey was able to do this with Asik last year.
I dont know much about this Lee character, but why wouldnt the knicks do this? Trade for Lee and get a first rounder from the warriors. You would have 16 million coming off the books next year plus another 22 million in the salary cap increase. Then you get Lee at a discounted price if he plays well because he will want to finish his career in NYC>

Calderon for Lee should work.

Hahaha, welcome back King1
I don't know if the Knicks have enough cap room to get him in a straight salary trade unfortunately.
Is there any way the Knicks could arrange a three way trade with Philly where Philly takes Calderon, Knicks get DLee and GSW gets just cap relief?
Philly needs a pg in the worst way. Big men can't score unless someone passes them the ball. (Mr obvious here)
I can't see how any team would be all that enamoured by Calderon's injury history. Well, except maybe the awesome trainers on the Suns.

Grant is really good Pg.
Not sure if this would work but they have a 6 million dollar trade exception. They could create 4 mil in cap space by stretching Jose. They would need another 5 mil in cap space to add Lee. Lee wants to come to ny.
Calderon for Lee will NEVER work. GS is looking to get rid of Lee because of salary reasons. No way they take on an extra year in Calderons case. Only way I see this happening is by using the trade exceptions we have. GS sheds salary we don't eat up cap space.

That train has passed. Only way to get Lee here is by other teams running out of cap room and the Warriors come to the realization that stretching Lees contract saves them nearly 30mm

I like the pick, but mid-first rounders can't ever be expected to start, especially not day 1.
