Knicks · How can we get gallinari? (page 1)

BRIGGS @ 7/3/2015 6:45 PM
He would be a great fit
stopstandthere @ 7/3/2015 6:54 PM
Why he is a great fit and how to get him?
callmened @ 7/3/2015 7:26 PM
he would be an excellent fit...nice player (barring injuries) ...to be we cant get him
meloshouldgo @ 7/3/2015 7:32 PM
Well we wiukd have to trade whatshisface to Denver. But our idiot leaders gave him a no trade clause.
WaltLongmire @ 7/3/2015 7:39 PM
I also mentioned this in another thread- I don't think it is crazy by any means.

Much depends on whether he can still guard at the 3 position. If he can, he is a good player to pair with Anthony if you want to play Anthony at the 4.

Gallinari's size makes up for Anthony playing PF, to some extent.

I guess you are looking for a guy like Thanasis' brother or Durant, who have length to provide some interior help defense, but enough quickness to defend the perimeter.

Ultimately depends on whether Melo can handle the 3 spot on D...and I know most think he cannot.

Wonder if Jackson would look at Derrick Williams as a SF? Not sure his defense is up to it, but I can't say for sure.

NardDogNation @ 7/3/2015 7:43 PM
The Nuggets would have to want to dump his contract, which is a distinct possibility. It'd be a miracle if he played in more than 50% of his games with the Nuggets since being traded there.

I think Cleanthony Early to HOU and a sign and trade of KJ McDaniels to the Nuggets might be a good primer for us to get Gallinari. I'd be hard pressed not to imagine that picks would need to be involved as well, which I'd be thoroughly against.

crzymdups @ 7/3/2015 7:44 PM
He's a free agent next summer. If you build it, he will come (back).

We might simply be better served standing pat and then throw big money at Nicolas Batum next season. With Rolo already in play, Batum would make for an excellent defensive flank to cover Melo's weaknesses. And the good news is that Batum wouldn't be the injury risk that Gallinari has been but brings many of the same skills offensively.

The combination of Gallo and melo as 3-4s would put a lot of pressure on opposing d's. Is Gallo a part of den eta future with hezonga? Is be willing to give up early and cap space

I'd like him as a 6th man but would prefer Batum as my starter. Those two would provide excellent flexibility in the frontcourt.

I love Batum. It'd be hilarious if we built Portland East.

No to gallinari.

DEN drafted Mudiay, not Hezonja. I could definitely see them wanting to dump Gallinari but they'd want the same types of resources a rebuilding team wants in trades, for Gallo. Even if they are 2nd round picks though, I'd be thoroughly against sparing them.

LOL, I was actually contemplating a trade involving Porzingis and Calderon to POR for Damien Lillard; then sign LaMarcus Aldridge too. So crazy that it just might work!

He's a good player but how many times has he gone down? I don't know his contract but I'm not giving anything up for him
