He was far from perfect, but looked like the better pick than Russell, today.

At one point he even guarded him on the top of the key and Russell could not score on the drive.

Russell had 7 turnovers, and shot 4/15 from the field, 0/3 from the 3, and was only 6/9 from the FT line.

OK4 actually seemed to be in better shape than he was in his first few games.

Nice message sent by a guy who grew up a Laker's fan.

You have to wonder about OK4, though- he might have been picked at #2 if he had come into the workouts in better shape and with a fine-tuned game.

OK4 was hurt most of the year in college..He missed some easy looks on some awesome moves..He is playing like the number one overall pick..

Russell isn't quick enough to get separation to get his shot off..He isn't comfortable going right..He needs to work on his handle as well..He seems shocked at the pace and surprised that guys are still in front of him when he makes his move..

Guys got bumped higher off those workout videos u love so much..

I know you're being provocative...

those videos mean zilch to teams. Of course

OK4 will be an adequate defender, at best. His "Catch-22" quandary is that the 15-20lbs he should lose to become a good defender allows him to hip check defenders in the paint

He had a lot of time to heal and work on his game. Coming into a workout and knocking down 20 FTs in a row might have been helpful, as would the kind of workout that would have kept Kupchak from saying this after his workout: "I think if there is a part of his game that lags would be his defensive presence on the court," Lakers General Manager Mitch Kupchak said.

Towns has a better all-around game, no other way around it- and that is why he got picked #1.

Well based on previous conversations we have had its not really provocative..I'm just illustrating a point I made from those conversations..

You can't change your jump shot over a month..It takes years of hard work..OK4 played a very good all around game yesterday..Defensively and offensively..He has court presence..He is the only one of the top picks that looks like a franchise player. But what's funny about that is the same conclusion was drawn after seeing him play last year when healthy. The workout videos changed draft perceptions..

To damn small for a C.

He played very well at c. He also made some. Dry nice passes which was the first thing that caught my eye. I think this guys a player he s not an above the rim player but history tells us some of the best rebounders were rim level guys. He has a soft shot and used the backboard nicely. He used power and finesse to get his shot up pretty well and used his wingspan as well. He's an nba player for sure

- Concerns about his durability ( that his knees will be long term issues for any prospective team)
- Footwork is all over the map at times.
- Doesn't have immediate floor spacing potential - doesn't have NBA 3 point range or consistency
- Face up dependent game won't translate at NBA speed/close contact
- Might be perceived as a little too aggressive given his potential injury risk ( think of Danny Amendola, a kamikaze mindset with a frame built like fine china)
- Will be foul prone at the NBA level

IMHO the league still drafts with the lingering remnants of the David Stern system.

Under Stern, you sell the shoes, you get the calls. Dwayne Wade can't really finish around the rim anymore. He hasn't been effective there for probably the last 2 and a half seasons. However, when he blindly jumps into a player without even trying to score, the refs bail him out. They did more before than now. It's because he sells a lot merchandise on an international level and he's a brand name the league committed to marketing around and he has a celebrity/actress girlfriend. When Odom and Humpheries were banging Kardashians, those guys got more free contact than I've seen in a long time.

You can't win 8 on 5, no matter your talent level. And not suffering 8 on 5 means you need super stars. You need league marketable players. There were times Blake Griffin should have fouled out of every game his first couple of years in the league. But he's biracial, in LA and dunks over a Kia, and fans pay big dollars to see him perform in crunch time.

Until Adam Silver and team basketball is seen as a safe viable way to consistently contend, then teams IMHO are still going to default to the methodology of drafting that worked best in the Stern era. Also these GMs want to keep their jobs, taking what is the consensus against ADP is far less controversial than what would be seen as a reach. You'll see that happen all the time in the NFL and even with the Jets and Giants.

Anyways he's so mad at the summer league cuz these players. They're just gunning and not passing him the ball. He's like "I'm trying to feed my family and they're taking away money from me". It just makes it all real man...to us as fans it's just a sport. To these guys it's their living.

I think he has 147 fouls so far this summer. Towns is also getting pushed off his spot a lot so far this summer. He'll learn.

I'm a little surprised by his lack of strength on the blocks..

It's an adjustment process. It makes me less concerned with Kristaps actually seeing Towns get pushed off too. I do like his passing instincts though. I think he tried to force 1 or two but he seems like he is going to be a nice passer.

Well u see the teams have made the adjustment and putting their bodies on KP when they drive the lane..Pushes him out the way so he can't block the shot..We will see..
