I wish him well, glad he got to win a title. I'm glad he is not a Knick.
smackeddog @ 7/7/2015 2:51 PM
I wonder what they are getting for taking him? Tommy Dee who also broke this, said that we were briefly involved in a 3 way deal for him along with Portland, but we backed out- no idea if true.

If Ainge gives up Picks for another non defense playing Big man, to the Warriors who need to move Lee to stay out the Tax I am going to laugh my ass off.
smackeddog @ 7/7/2015 2:55 PM

I thought the point of this for the warriors was to clear salary.

smackeddog @ 7/7/2015 2:56 PM
Wonder if the Celtics buy him out- they have plenty of D free PFs

They'll probably keep him.

I thought the same. It does save the Warriors 5 mil in salary and gets Lee a chance to play again.

Yep, I forgot that his salary was $15mil and Wallaces was $10mil.

An odd trade all round

Then again, I think the Warriors were already up to $95mil is salary so that $5mil is a lot in luxury tax savings. I suppose they couldn't find any takers for the full salary, so had to settle for a $5mil saving

Knixkik @ 7/7/2015 3:03 PM
Warriors can use stretch provision on Wallace's contract, per the new CBA. Lee's contract was signed before that was possible. Looks like that is their reasoning.

Heard an estimate today that Dan Gilbert is looking at 100M in repeater tax. Welcome to the Superfriends era Dan Gilbert! I think GSW are even worse off then Cleveland as far as the penalties go

I laugh at that, because Gilbert was one of the lock out leaders, and key figures in creating a cba designed to thwart Miami- how ironic that it comes back to bite him in the ass!

The Warriors can use the stretch provision on Wallace but couldn't use it on Lee.

I dont generally root against... I just cant be bothered. But I will show a little smile at the thought of Lebron not winning another title and Gilbert spending an extra $100mm a year to build the Buffalo Bills of the new century

Pretty incredible Lebron is 30 and has played in 6 finals... Even with the superfriends he's only 2-2.... losing 4 has gotta sting

simmons without the espn backing is kinda sad

espn is so cruel to have him hanging out there with no job like that.
