Hearing that reports of signing were premature, Clippers only have vets min to offer so Cole maybe still available if Jax likes him better than Amundson or others. Cole is still only 27
We need to send Phil and the team round to his house to get him to change his mind

Theoretically, the Knicks should have like $1.4M in cap room and the $2.8M room exception.
I wouldn't give Cole the room, but I'd offer him $1.4M with a player option for next year.
I'd save the room for Shved.
Does anyone know if we don't use the room - does it stay available to us all season? Like say if someone good gets bought out or waived?

the knicks also have Cole's EB rights so they can go above the cap to resign him. Money is not the issue.

yeah, Cole's been here through some lean years. He might just want to win.
Aldrich was always a blue-collar fill-in --- he made it clear to the Knicks he only wanted to play at PowerForward next year.

He's more likely to end up in their rotation compared to NY.
Knicks will roll out Lopez and O'Quinn at center. Zinger, Melo and Williams will eat PF minutes.
Aldrich will only have to compete with Big Baby and Udoh for frontline rotation minutes. If Paul Pierce plays some PF, that will cut into it some, but if has more of a chance to play, be in the rotation and be on a team that will make the playoffs, it all just adds up to a better fit for him. It would only take on injury to either Jordan or Griffin for Aldrich to get some burn as a starter ( I don't think Big Baby has anything left and Udoh isn't the answer as a quasi starter)
Always like Aldrich, too bad karma will inflict itself on the Clippers this year. Hopefully it will bypass Aldrich and not hit him with friendly fire.
Agreed, I liked Cole as serviceable backup in case of injuries. Amundson should be brought back for depth. Don't forget Lopez nay not stay healthy. They need another big.
