KG gets it and he already has his ring. Young team that is years away from competing for a ring. He wants to guide them in the right direction from day. Towns especially
KG is getting paid 8 mil per to mentor the kids with a gig in the organization when that is over..You can continue to pretend like you don't know...
Don't go there
holfresh - Melo is paid more than three times as much as Garnett

They discuss his working with the young players as part of his deal.
Kevin Garnett officially signed this afternoon in Las Vegas a two-year contract that at age 39 will pay him $8 million a year to return to both play for and mentor these young Wolves
Garnett will spend some time around the Wolves' summer-league team, which begins play here in Vegas tonight at 7:30 pm Central time against the Lakers.

Yeah but was he attending the summer league when he was a Celtic? How about when he was a Net? The press release says he was signed in part to mentor the young players and that he would be spending time with them at the summer league.
CrushALot - strange, I cannot remember a KG summer when the the Celtics or Nets were coming off 17 wins.
Nice try though.

i still feel melo fits best as a seondary player who can score. Thats not a knock on him just how it is

Well he was on some 30 win teams in Minny. Was at the summer league leading those years? How about Wade who is known as a leader. Did he attend summer league the year he hurt his knee and the Heat won 18 games? Beasley certainly could have used some mentoring.

So Melo only has to be there for the summer league when our team sucks? Shouldn't a leader lead all the time?
And the KG's first year with the Celtics, they were coming off a season in which they had the second worst record in the league.

Mentoring kids is not in his job description ..It's literally in Garnett's job description..Garnett is paid to be there..That is his job..Summer Camp is one of his stops..

Aren't you sick of talking about Melo? 'Cause I'm sick of seeing you post those same words every time he comes up.

No one is asking Melo to mentor any kids
Why not simply introduce yourself to four newly acquired peers as a show of support?
Just one day. Is that really asking too much?

"Carmelo reached out to Kris after all of that. It was beautiful that a player of that profile can do something like that. It's great," Porzingis' older brother, Janis, said Monday during an appearance on ESPN 98.7 FM's "The Hahn and Humpty Show."

Does that work? Or Leadership 101 states he must be there in person?
Great Question
A. TeamBall - leadership 101 stipulates you gotta suit up and show up.
Tweeting it don't count.

wade is not a leader please stop the insanity
I think that course needs a couple of modifications

Support can come in many forms..Does it only have to be in the way the Answer Man wants it or maybe he can do it in his own way at the right time..Does his support have to coincide with your time table?
Lead, follow or get out of the way.
TeamBall - the senior faculty eagerly awaits your suggestions and modifications to Leadership 101.
Fall course descriptions are due at the printer next week.
