nope he is not athletic plus Grant is toooooo old. He is like 46 or something.
He sees the floor, pushes the ball, has the floater, hits the 3. He's gonna be viable for a looong time.

Gallo just does not see the floor well, kind of disappointed in his play. No progress seen since last season.

Muldiay is going to be a star. Best pg in draft
From where these guys were drafted. ....grant gives you more value as a 19th pick compared to the high pick of Mudiay. Both will be solid PGs

Gallo is a better SG than PG.....

Yup, solid off the bench SG
Gallo played decent defense out there and did push when he had the opportunity. the Galloway/Grant back court should be really effective and it did a great job defensively of keeping all those Laker guards from scoring high (though having good defensively bigs behind them definitely helped).
Also Grant definitely looks like he'll be a starting PG sooner than later. He definitely out played Russell. Russell needs to lose that weight. I thought he had added it prior to the draft so he could post up smaller PG's as a way to compensate for his slower foot speed, but now I'm thinking he is just out of shape.

Very true. I see him being overtaken by Grant as the season progresses.

For me Grant passed Gallo 2 games ago

If everyone healthy look for a Calderon-Grant starting backcourt to start the season I would think. Gallo is not a reg starter on a good team. Grant brings lots of tools among them legit court vision.
They did a really poor job of getting the ball to KP. Also, I don't see what benefit he is getting out of only playing C in SL, and always being the only tall guy out there for the Knicks.
Well definitely the idea was that Jerian was going to be the future starting guard. You can see the talent he has and he still has a lot of things to learn.
What amazes me about KP is that his presence really messes with the opposing team. He doesn't yet now how to use his size as well as he should but he really made the Lakers look small and lame as they kept trying to attack the basket to no avail. KP was forcing them to change their shots or pass out to the perimeter at the last second. The Knicks D was really killing the Lakers.

I actually think we'll see Jerian, Afflalo, Melo, KP and RoLo. I think that would be our best starting unit.
Missed most of the first half. Kirk looked great in the first quarter. Amazing pass to Early out of the post.

KP isn't really yet.He has a long way to go..He likes to put the ball on the floor and his dribble is too high right now..He doesn't know how to seal to get the ball in the post..He strength and conditioning has to improve drastically..I think people have to stop rushing the kid to be a star..He has time and patience is needed..

I know he has a way to go, but a lot of his issues are really small things. Bad habits like bringing the ball down when he gets a rebound. He needs to learn to keep the ball up and really he'll be spending the next few months working on his strength which should help him. He's playing Center now in SL and won't be doing that in the regular season. I think he'll be a bit more comfortable playing his usual role as a forward playing next to RoLo and Melo. I think he can handle that just fine.

Might not be necessary in the summer league but it will be a different story with the big boys.
The guy is 7-3 he should play 12 feet and in. You ever see Kareem taking 3 s?
His game is way different then Kareem's game. The kid has a sweet shot and will be shooting 3's.
Zingis is not a big......hes a 7'3 wing player with an outside jumper and a soft touch around the rim.....
Porzingis is a 7-3 skill 5-4 who will fill out nicely. He's not quick enough to be a wing nor would u want him to be. I'm not arguing about it because it's an inane thought process. Yes let's make our 7-3 small by playing him 26 feet from the basket come on now
You are really underselling his potential as a dynamic impact player. I guess it's better to at it safe now and be pleasantly surprised. I get it
NYY1NYK2 wrote:Russell has played terrible
Not a surprise. So much for all the talk about him being the best player in the draft. Glad we didn't waste a pick on a guard when we needed a playmaking versatile big man

As has been said by many, though, Galloway is not really a PG. He was a solid off the ball guard in college, who more often than not was on the receiving end of a pass as opposed to dishing it to someone. He was out of position last year...by necessity, of course.
Depending on what happens with Calderon, you can have Galloway play some minutes at lead guard, but mostly as a sub for Aflalo at SG.
20-25 MPG, unless he's really hitting the J on a particular night.
Don't think Ledo looked good today, by the way...he did not help himself at all, IMO.
NYY1NYK2 wrote:Grant is a putting on a show, when was the last time we had a PG this fast
Best Knick PG since Jackson/Strickland. We may finally have a true PG! Finally!!! Can't wait until the moment he and KP start together
