Amazing that the Knicks picked a 70's mentality GM who may have not won a tittle if not for some of the best players to play the game. The new NBA is not made up of 5 hard working guys who are trying really hard to play team ball. In case you haven't noticed, the last several NBA champions have had at least three superstars/All Stars on the team. When was the last champions to have one star player and 4 role players on the team? We saw how well Lebron did without anyone next to him in the finals. Furthermore, the idea that the antiquated Triangle will win is ridiculous. If you have Jordan Pippen and Grant, Kukoc running it with lethal 3pt shooters, yes. Why is it that 99% of the league run pick and roll offenses? Why is it the Knicks have the most trouble defending pick and roll offenses. Your telling me you would rather have guys like Galloway, Admnundson, Thomas get a touch every time instead of exploiting an obvious match up weakness? And yes,I know everyone over 40 is going to say how boring it is. Well then, time to take out the old Harvard videos and watch some exciting basketball. But if you want a championship, it wont happen letting role players touch the ball on consistent basis. That's just the truth.

Phil just spent all this money based on an ego that thinks he can win games based on his system and diamonds in the rough instead of proven players. We both know what the truth is. Good point, no KP, Grant, Melo and Aflalo will play entire game. Probably the only ones thus far capable of handling the ball.
I don't think Phil's approach is a bad thing..I think the triangle would be great if Phil was coaching it...I think Phil can be successful in today's game and is still very relevant, again, if he is coaching..But he has to let Fisher put forth his own vision in which he believes...The players has to see the passion in which the teacher is presenting his ideas and views for them to believe and buy in..I'm not there and I won't say that Fisher doesn't have the passion...I just think it something basic when a team is trying to create a foundation and compete at a level that eventually leads to a winning culture...

I base the franchise on the development of KristapS P. I know we can't beat some teams in the east right now. I think Phil did the best he could. It's very easy to say lets get deandre Jordan when he wasn't coming here. So of you break Phil's cahones let me in on what you would be done different

We are a league of copy cats..The entire league is now running pick and rolls and shooting threes..LeBron and Moz post play almost took down the best three point shooting team in the NBA...Everyone doesn't have to do it to validate it..The masses are usually arses...

Just so we're clear on this, Phil has been adding young talent to the roster and the hope is that they reach their full potential, which is MUCH higher than a role player!!! For right now the idea of Melo and a lot of solid role players is the reality but that's only because we don't yet have our young prospects fully developed. Give it some time to fully flesh out. This is just the beginning of the process. Let's hope he's right about KP, Jerian and all the young players he's brought in and will yet bring in.
Another thing. Phil is not just some dude that fell into a lucky situation. He was scouted as a brilliant young BB mind by Jerry Krause long before he became the Head Coach of the Bulls. He got the job because of Jerry's belief in his BB Intellect and he was right. The sooner that fans stop buying the media narrative that Phil is out of his depth or looking for a money grab the better. Do some research before spouting media drivel about a man who has known nothing but winning for longer than many of us have been alive. It's freakin disrespectful and stupid to assume you know better. Phil may never reach the Title he hopes to bring to NY but it won't be because he's out of touch or isn't committed.

I would have tried to get back at least one or starters when I got rid of Chandler, Felton, Amare, Shump, JR, and Prigs..It presents a better case for free agents..No one of value will consider at 17 win team with one NBA caliber starter...
Calderon is an nba caliber starter....

Also PnR, ISO and 3Pt'ers works and it's the easiest thing to do. Even if you don't have the brightest players on your roster it is easy to implement PnR etc since these players will most likely have been doing it on their college, AAU and High School teams.
A lot of coaches don't have the time and support in order to stick with tougher systems like the Princeton or Triangle offense. They can't survive the early rough basketball and losing that can come as you try to install those kinds of systems. So no new coach is going to risk his job trying to basically retrain players on fundamental basketball that requires thinking and skills from every player rather than just your PG.

Exactly right. Bottom line is the development of this franchise is solely based on KP. He represents the next potential star here. It's all on his development where we go in the next 5 years.
