2 Norman Powell
3 Joseph Young
4 Stanley Johnson
5 Branden Dawson
6 Jordan Mickey
7 Emmanuel Mudiay
8 Frank Kaminsky
9 Jahill Okafor
10 Willie Stein
Note 4 of top 6 are 2 nd rounders
i havent seen norman powell or joe young yet but i agree myles turner was (by far) the #1...the rest i have seen in bits and pieces.
i saw WCS live and in person. i wasnt impressed. his best asset is running down the court to receive lobs. on defense he fouls too much.
Willie Cauley Stein had 13pts 8rebs 5blks in 17 minutes last night.
I like Porzingis a lot and I'm happy to root for him, but if he put up those same numbers, people here would be calling him the best player in the draft and Rookie of the Year.
thats a great stat line! wow. it never seemed like he influenced the game. most of his points just seemed like point blank layups. he was always chirping, complaining and fouling. but i cant argue with that stat line

Being 4 year college players, that is typically the case, especially in summer league.
Turner is light years ahead of everyone. Towns, Turner, Okafor, and Porzingis are all 19 and Turner looks years ahead of them right now. If I had a crystal ball that only went to 7/17/15, I would have traded down for him. (And, relax, I still do like Porzingis as a prospect.)

Towns last game showed a lot. But in terms of consistency on both ends and a beautiful looking jumpshot with size length body etc... Turner was easily the best SL player.
The list could be changed a tad at the end here but not too much at all. Id move Joseph Young to 2 Johnson to 3 Powell to 4. This is just for rookies.

WCS is like 23 with 3 yrs of college. By 23 I'm hoping KP is in all star game not summer league.
No zing in your top ten come on man KP rocked it this summer esp intimating and shot blocking

He was a talent that could have gone in any direction. Its also possible that his game was more suited for today's NBA then college.
With all that said TJ Warren averaged like 30pts a game last yr in summer league. We would t really know anything about these players until min the end of the yr

Jeremy Tyler is right up there. We should have drafted him!

He's still available....Nothing is stopping Phil from pulling the trigger.....It's not like Tyler has a long line of GM's knocking on his door. There must be a reason why Phil hasn't entertained this option. I thought he was a good player as well, but I'm just a fan, with no rings.

phil is staying away from him because he stinks!
the point is that we can't judge players based on SL.

Clearly you only get a part of the picture. We know they put KP at the center position a lot of the time, so we only got to see a little of what he can do.
I think they did something similar with Towns, I read.

Clearly, a strong summer league performance projects better than a weak one, though. It's not like there's a negative or inverse correlation between the two.
You're right that it's far from a perfect correlation though and we are only projecting.

I believe Pelton did a breakdown of how a good summer league translate over to success for rookies but for sophomores it means little

Good info. I looked it up and you seem to be right that it matters most for rookies. Defensive rebounding translates particularly well (which is concerning for KP) but so does shot-blocking (which gives some reassurance).

lol. I did once I re-read your post and realized that you said summer league is meaningful for rookies but not older players. Sorry about that.

Okay, because your post didn't say edited and I was like I know I read something different. Well at least I thought I did. lol.
It would be great if FT translated.
