Remember Jeremy Tyler on our team? Gave good effort, could see he had a bit of potential. Maybe you remember him more for being the guy who looked like actor Will Smith.

Well last night Will Smith put up 25 with 13 rebounds for the Mavs and single-handedly beat the Lakers in the first knock out round of Summer League. And what did we get for moving him off our team? A fortieth round draft pick in 2027?

Just another in a long line of greats who the Knicks let go for nothing.
But we still hold onto tennis player Pete Sampras as our starting point guard.
Incredible.

The kid has talent, but putting up gaudy stats is nothing new for him. He has the talent but he never was consistent for us.
Have to see what he does in the NBA as he already has proven he is a summer league all star.

I made a thread, put him as a solid bigman to go after...and was virtually abused by everyone on here.
When he was here, when he was allowed to play.. he played well for us. Showed a consistent midrange and caught a few nice alleys. But we have no patience, so now we can watch him shine elsewhere

Jeremy Tyler sucks. He's got like 2 post moves. When he's hitting on those he looks great. When you figure those two moves out, usually after about 4 minutes he's got nothing else, and no ability to make adjustments. He needs a new sneaker deal also because the one's he's strapping on his feet are made of cement.

Yes indeed... another true great the Knicks let go for nothing.

If you look at youtube highlights you have to wonder why this talented smooth bigman doesnt have a big NBA contract. Then if you actually watch him play for any stretch of more than 1 game you will see. He's not a good player plain and simple.

Tyler is a "great"? Where did he play last year? Has he taken his conditioning serious? Is he doing something different NOW as opposed to when he was on the knicks, or got cut?

Did you look at the highlights? He camped out in the lane for 3+ secs every time. Also every move he made was a walk that wasnt called.

Don't tell me we missed yet another ex-Knick in the NBA playoffs!

Any thoughts on current Knicks or just focusing on the Mike Woodson era for the next decade?

You have to keep in mind that he also considers JR Smith to be one of these former knick greats. He must be some sort of spoof poster

Didn't NDour just do what Tyler did. It's summer league and there are going to be some flashes by some players. Tyler has had ample opportunities yet gets passed over for other players it say something.

I believe Tyler played in China recently and he clearly picked up some body weight, strength, and some moves. I didn't watch the highlights of last night's Summer League game, I watched the game! Kept an eye on Tyler every second he was in. He's a top player. Another in the growing Knick list of "one's that got away." (And Steve Kerr is on that list, too. Maybe you've heard of him. Championship coach. We didn't pursue legal action against him, and instead let him walk away without a fight because we had...wait for it...Derek Fisher in the wings. Unreal.)
