Knicks · Suns shopping Morris & Bledsoe (page 1)

KNICKSBIGCATS @ 7/16/2015 4:49 PM
If he would agree to it, I'd trade Melo right now for Markeiff Morris, Eric Bledsoe, TJ Warren and a future first. All three of the major players involved ( Melo, Morris and Bledsoe) have 4 years left on their contracts.
Trade works on ESPN NBA trade machine.
Would love to include Calderon in the deal but not sure Phoenix has the assets to match.

Why the Suns do it: They replace Morris (a guy who is reported to not get along with Hornacek and also is unhappy about his brother being traded away) with Melo. And they replace Bledsoe with their new star, Brandon Knight, to take over to full time PG responsibilities.

Knixkik @ 7/16/2015 5:09 PM
What a mess that team is. They seriously have no plan at all. Looking to trade 2 guys who were supposed to be foundation pieces. Knight and Len (who is stuck behind Chandler the next 4 years) are their only high upside guys. Seems very dysfunctional.
Moonangie @ 7/16/2015 5:14 PM
Better question: Why would Melo agree to go to that shyte show?
KNICKSBIGCATS @ 7/16/2015 5:27 PM
Maybe Melo wouldn't go for it, but, if I were Phil, I'd try to sell him on the potential Phoenix starting lineup being better than anything the Knicks could throw out there.....stress to him that we're in rebuild mode.....he'd have a better chance to win now by getting out of town.....probably he's stupid enough to bite......

B Knight PG
A Goodwin SG
Tyson Chandler C
PJ Tucker SF
Melo PF

That looks like the same as NY.

KNICKSBIGCATS @ 7/16/2015 5:36 PM
Why the four for one trade? In other leagues it’s not as true but in the NBA quantity is not as highly regarded as quality. One dollar (Melo) is worth a lot more than 4 quarters in the NBA.
I feel that we should look to move him NOW (before he implodes because history says he will)
and we're left with 50 cents or less on the dollar.

Yeah, that's not a playoffs team out West. And despite Tyson supposedly recruiting Melo to the Mavs, I have a hard time believing Tyson and Melo like each other at this point.

Even if the starting lineup was better in phoenix, it would be negated by the fact that they are in the western conference and don't have a great chance of being very competitive. His best argument to Melo would be that the Phoenix medical staff could keep him scoring 20 ppg until he is 40, but that's about it.

Maybe it is the same but I'd try to sell him that it's better.
We need to try to find a team to take him NOW....like Denver stuck us 5 years ago.....
while his perceived value is still high around the league.

I don't think it's that high around the league right now.

And most of us were shocked when we were able to turn Hardaway into Grant.
You don't know until you try...........the time to start kicking tires on Melo is NOW.

Wait this is the guy that carried the Knicks to 54 wins and is blameless for the 17 win season. Surely he can make the playoffs with NBA quality starters. He will be the featured scorer, just like he wants. Just add Mike Woodson. Theyll win 70 games for sure. 81 if Isiah is GM.

yellowboy90 @ 7/16/2015 6:43 PM
If I knew Bledsoe was healthy I would probably be willing to give up a protected 1st for him. Morris is a nice player but I worry about his attitude and off the court trouble.

So he can play with his buddy Tyson again

mreinman @ 7/16/2015 6:48 PM
cause the phoenix docs can keep his brand healthy

I ws thinking Pheonix myself. Charles Barkley had a career resurgence in Phoenix so could Melo. I dont see them giving up BOTh Warren and Morris. I can see Bledsoe Morris and a pick--but I would be happy with that deal you said. You're right--were fckd here. Time to get the best deal for Melo and move on. The best deal is one where we can shop him around. Phoenix and Boston(Brooklyn unretricted) are the best places. Hes not going to a team already set up Phoenix is really good. They would have a big 3 with Knight Melo and Chandler and may good parts.

Hi Briggs-

Boston is an intriguing option who we all know has assets galore
in terms of young players and picks. Heck, they were offering a boatload
of picks and players just to trade into the top of the draft.
I think that they were targeting WCS, but maybe it was Winslow.
I think that Danny Ainge (one of the best GMs around) accumulated the picks with
the intention of moving up/trading, but it didn't work out.

One player I'd want in any discussion with the Celtics is IT4. He's a tremendous penetrator,
disher, and three point shooter. I also am very high on Crowder, but he's a fan favorite
and it's unlikely that we could pry him away....but maybe for Melo.
They need a scorer. I'd stay away from Sullinger. I don't want KO, either.

At the end of the day, I'd figure that Boston is a team on the rise while Phoenix is going in the opposite direction. So, I'd try to deal with the Suns with the hope that their draft pick would be more valuable (although Boston could potentially have AT LEAST two lottery picks next year).

But, no matter how we do it, we must get the ball rolling and see what offers are out there
for our selfish, snarly faced, egotistical, me first, team killing, maxed out plus piece of human waste.

How about this

Carmelo Anthony to Boston
Isiah Thomas + David Lee to NY with Brooklyn's 2016 and 2018 unrestricted picks.

David Lee Cleanthony Early to Denver with Brookyln 2018 pick

Not bad, Briggs.
David Lee can't be traded for a few months, right?

I think that we might be able to get more from Boston straight up.
How about Melo to Celts for IT4, James Young, Tyler Zeller and Dallas 2016 pick?

TheGame @ 7/16/2015 10:13 PM
Melo has a no trade clause. Thus, he is not going anywhere any time soon. Melo is not getting traded until Melo decides it's time to go. The plan is still to try to pair him with a max player next summer and then see what we've got.

Hes probably got a better shot to be paired with another star in Boston or Pheonix
