We were in the mix to sign him last yr

Knicks would be second in line I believe to pick him up off of waivers.
earthmansurfer @ 7/29/2015 3:03 PM
Wow, this is great news. Thanks for the note about being second in line off waivers. Who is first and could they use him, have a spot, etc?

What do you think about him Briggs? I thought he played 4 mostly, you say 5?
In Triangle?

Sounds like we pick him up if he almost signed, if #1 on the waiver list let's him by.

I might have made a mistake about the waiver order. Not sure. I thought I read it in one of Bobby Marks' tweets but couldn't find it. Also, he tweeted this later,

Also, I wonder what other guys have a date of 8/1 for their contract to be guaranteed.

Ledo for one. I'm curious to see what the Knicks do there.

But I also think that's why it is wise that the Knicks have left themselves a little flexibility with the roster.

Also, for those clamoring to sign NDour to a multi-year guaranteed deal out of summer league... that's what the Kings did with Moreland. Waived him a year later.

We were not clamoring to give NDour $845,059 + $980,431 like Moreland got.

Okay, the kings just gave the example that his contract was expendable like most vet minimums. Also, next year only part of his contract is guaranteed so it's really nothing in NBA money.

He made a little over 500K last year and remember part of it is paid by the league

I thought if the length was for more than a year the league didn't pay a portion of the deal. I believe I read that when the Kings signed Acy.

Okay, I'll look that up.

Anyway, I believe the knicks have 700k left under the cap before the sign their rookies. So they are just shy to slide Moreland in if that is something that they want to do.
