This season can't come soon enough....
Don't want to, need to see the Zinger in action.
"The dynasty is about to begin. Get ready people!"
From the article:
ESPNs Kevin Pelton (Insider only) plugged the 2015 draft class into his WARP projections, and Basketball SkyNET predicts Zingis Khan to be the fifth-most productive rookie in 2015-16:
Can someone with ESPN Insider post the article?
Every time I watch that gif over, I notice something new like Kevin McHale and Doc in the corner, Fisher in the other, or Clyde just chillin' in the bottom right corner.
Makes me feel happy.
It's a great GIF. I can't wait for KP to get stronger. I think he's gonna be a real stud if he can get his conditioning up. The fanbase could really use a new young star. I'm pulling for this kid to reach his full potential in NY. Nothing like a home grown talent.
Pelton wrote that
the widespread notion that Porzingis is a project is somewhat overstated...Porzingis was a productive player in a competitive ACB league in Spain last season. And he held his own in Vegas, averaging 18.4 points and 3.1 blocks per 36 minutes -- albeit with just 5.7 rebounds per 36.
i have said the same thing to Briggs and others on here multiple times. the difference between where KP is today and what he could be in 5 years is huge, hence the "project" label - but that doesn't mean he isn't going to contribute off the bat. he played a full professional season (50 games) last year in the 2nd hardest league on the planet and was productive - 11 ppg 5 rpg 2 blk 1 stl. i expect him to give us 25 minutes a game off the bat this year.

I believe he will have a similar impact and stats like he did in SL. They will throw him in the fire As a starter.....then quickly pull him out.

Not sure if you mean having him start in the beginning of the year and then putting him on the bench, or having him start every game but perhaps give a guy like OQuinn more total minutes at PF. I'm leaning toward the second option.
I think he gets some selected minutes at center, probably against another teams' second unit.
I expect they will have a 20MPG floor and increase it based on how he looks. Would like to see him at 25-30MPG by the end of the year, with a few 35M games in the second half of the season.
Hope he comes into training camp weighing between 240-245 lbs.
I think Mudiay and Okafor should be in the top 4.

Guessing the WARP projections didn't take kindly to Mudiay and Okafor, because both's percentages and deficiencies from the free throw line extended.
Gotta be able to hit free throws and open jumpers to make an impact in the NBA.

6 turnovers per 36 min has a way of bringing your advanced stats down too!

Not sure if turnovers weighed heavily in this. Deangelo Russell averaged like 20 turnovers a game it seemed in Summer League and he made the top 5 in the WARP Projections.

Turnovers is one of the factors WARP uses. I can't imagine any advanced stat ignoring turnovers.

It doesn't ignore it, you're right. Guessing it factored only Russell's college performance than what we all saw over the summer.

I think those guys will make it.

They'll all definitely make it, Lottery picks all have guaranteed contracts.
Derrick Williams is still in the league! Same with Anthony Bennett.
Just a matter of how well they make it. If KP happens to be the 5th impactful rookie in this draft class....HALLELUJAH!
Been a long time coming for Knicks fans to have something to be optimistic and hopeful about. Not since Ewing and Mark Jackson had we rookies that could be Rookie of the Year and then become potential All Stars soon after.
Not saying KP needs to win Rookie of the Year, but just show enough signs, that he can trend up to franchise talent in a matter of years.
Something we haven't had on the Knicks in what seems like decades. A few decent rookie seasons here and there like Landry Fields season, THJR in the Rookie/Soph game, that year with DLee, Channing, and Nate. Not one of those rooks could be mentioned in the same breath as potential franchise cornerstones though.
Can't wait until preseason.
