I was one of the few who thought Affalo was a great signing based on his accomplishments in the right setting. With that said I could care less corn Marc Bermans opinions
CrushAlot @ 8/14/2015 12:09 AM
I think Afflalo was a great signing. Have said so before. Thought he was really good in Orlando. I don't watch the west much but heard that last year he didn't play as well. The guy plays d, can score and wanted to be a Knick. Not much to complain about.
nixluva @ 8/14/2015 12:16 AM
I thought there were a lot of us who liked the Afflalo signing. When he's healthy, he's a solid SG. He should be able to sure up the SG spot and be the 2nd option for us. Not that this Olympic stuff really matters but it's nice to see him playing well.

I think you are right.

Glad to know. I can feel that he is very hungry right now.

I think the overwhelming majority of the board thought that Afflalo was the best signing of the offseason... but hey I guess sometimes posters need to pat themselves on the back for any reason they can manufacture

LOL,

Berman confirmed you? You dont' care what his opinion is as long as it agrees with you? Would you have stood up with your chest out with pride as one of the "few" had he not aired his opinion, and thus, you really do care.

GustavBahler @ 8/14/2015 9:59 AM
Watched most of it. This was more like an all star game than a real competition. Not much defense being played. Affalo looked to be in good shape, played well, but I wouldnt put too much stock in this game. Glad Melo and Afflalo have a history, should make the transition easier.

I watched and it was pretty awful hoops (i.e., even less D than the Allstar Game). Looked like warm-ups at an AAU tournament. But it's at least a taste of NBA action, if you got nothing better to do.

I think peak Afflalo can give us 13 pts/game, 3 reb, 3 ast on 45% shooting and 38% from downtown with solid D.

That would be the best case scenario for the Knicks this season, and gunning for that 8th seed.

We need him as our 2nd scorer. I'm hoping for 15-18 ppg from him.

The scrimmage was absolute trash - no defense - basically like 1st quarter of an NBA all-star game.

Afflalo - if we are being honest had 2 breakaways that lead to 2 buckets for him. On both occasions he walked blatantly showing little to no handle or coordination --- looked like Shump. The first time he completely botched his dribble and entire blue bench screamed travel -- the 2nd time he took about 4 steps on way to a dunk.

That's the wrong mindset to have. We should have a share the ball system like ATL or San An.

That's winning basketball, having just 2 guys score the brunt is destined for the same old Knicks ala Melo and JR season.

Best to have peak Melo average 21-22 points, Afflalo 13 maybe 14, then have a bunch of players average around double figures at least.

Yeah - it was a garbage game the entire game.

Afflalo did come in ready to play and then it was obvious that nobody was defending or even getting back on D.

I really like AA -- hope he has a solid year for us. Just be solid AA -- bring us solid shooting %, defense and leadership every night.

We haven't had a SG we can rely on night-night for what seems like ages -- almost as long as we haven't had a PG we can rely on.

13 isn't peak by any means -- those stats would be expected --- peak would be getting up into the 17/18 range with maybe 4 reb and 4 assists -- maybe slightly worse %.

That was on a young, bad Orlando team.

13-14 pts for Afflalo on this team with a peak Melo getting around 18 shots up would be good enough. Need to afford everyone else touches and shot attempts.
