espn basically shakes a bowl full of player names that are not top 50 and then another bowl full of rankings 51 to 400 and starts picking from each bowl. that's why it takes them a whole week to do this diligent work of evaluating rankings for each player.

did you do the math? i didn't think so.
i did.
this ranking would be the equivalent of the 5th most valuable player on a 15-man team in a league that has 30 teams. at 8 million a year and in anticipation of the salary cap at 70 million he would take up 11.4% of said salary cap.
what is your point here exactly?
oh yeah.. winning this year.
sorry-- phil didn't get your memo and he and the franchise don't give a rat's ass what you think holfresh...

Using your valuation, he ranks 3rd most valuable player on our roster and 5th league wide on a 15 man roster...What does that then tell our about our roster??

it tells me that the misguided among the knicks fanbase should go follow the spurs, clippers, cavs, or warriors if they can't abide a true rebuild of the knicks.
time to give up the "this is new york and it's about wins" whining. it ain't happening this season. try to be pleased with genuine progress and not the illusory 54 win, woodson coached, iso melo, median age 35 team of yesteryear. this is no longer the melo era.. the team is building to the future.

And that ranking is actually 5.5 league wide making him a bench player..

It's funny that lots of guy characterize that 54 win season as Woodson's ISO Melo then credit Kidd for the ball movement...

no i just took a page from your book, since you maintain, incredibly, that the source of the 54 wins was melo.
ESPN isn't our concern. Of the guys mentioned, how much playing Time will they get. Admundson and Thomas will sit as will Thanasis. Calderon has plenty to prove and his minutes will diminish as grant grows or by trade or by injury. OQuinn, Williams, Kris, Grant, Seraphim and Gallos #s will all go north with playing time and as they learn the offense
