Coming up shortly on ESPN...
Phil said its an easier schedule this year
Talking about the importance of finishing games many close games last season.
staying away from expectations for the playoffs. Fisher there too.....
Fisher agreeing, "more about the process". Talking about building the team and its his job to lead them in the right direction. Mills is there saying they are taking the right approach, referenced the puerto rico trip by players as proof.
Fisher saying Melo is happy with the off court decisions and is healthy.
Phl admits he stepped back too far last year. Fisher asking him to be more present wants him to be around, help with coacing, observations. Watching film etc.. (Now we're talking!)
Phil saying he learned more about being an exec...
Phil said Pau Gasol told him not to worry about the weight, that KP will grow into his body, Phil said he is trying to expedite the process. Sounds pleased with his attitude his work, his appetite for work. Now its about learning on the court. Fisher says he doesnt want to reinvent who he is. He doesnt ask him to do anything, first one in the gym.
Mills said he caught KP in the tub watching usain bolt on his phone to learn running techniques.
asking whether KP will have the minutes at 4-5 with the log jam.
Phil talking about matchups and KP's ability to matchup at several positions.
They cut away and I cant find it on msg, sorry.
Realy appreciate the updates!

No Problem, it should be on the MSG website soon.
I like what i've heard so far. Sounds like everyone is focusing in on more specific areas they need to improve. Everything in stages. I think Phil had to focus on Front Office stuff last year. There was so much he needed to learn and so much he actually had to do. There were so many decisions and moves to be made. Now after the big summer of decisions he can of course spend more time helping the team.

Phil said he did it in so many words because he wanted to give Fisher some space but he took it too far. You are right however that it gave Phil some time to learn being an exec. Having Phil much more involved with the team and basketball decisions is one of the best things Ive heard about the Knicks all summer. This will help with recruiting IMO, to what degree remains to be seen.

I thought he was giving fisher enough rope to completely hang himself, way too much space for a rookie coach. You could tell from the very first game that fisher was clueless.
Now i hope he travels with the team, and cut this phone conversations and txt messg out. His presence at practices and on the road will make a huge difference

Yup, was saying that all last season. One young player (cant remember who) was talking about how he spoke to Jackson and how great that was and hoped that it wasn't just a one time thing. Phil can have a big impact on players just from being around them at practice, team meetings etc Doesn't have to be as coach.
Also agree about the social media stuff.

So pissed I missed this. As usual, sounds like uncle Phil had a lot to say.. If anyone knows if they'll be replaying this on TV or if it's supposed to go up on a website, please let us know. Thanks.
