Suckssss!!!! He is the guy that Reichert said has the best chance to make it and stay in the nba this year from the d l. He is 6'7 shoots the three at a very high rate (over 50% I believe) and is supposed to have improved his d a lot. Waiting for ten day contracts could come back to bite the Knicks. This guy already had an elite nba skill. With his size and improved d he seems like a lock to stick and would have had a role on the knicks in my opinion.
Knicks don't really need a sharpshooting SG though, do they? Seems like he would be behind AA and Gallo?
Knicks need a penetrating PG.

I think it is hard to translate d league talent to the nba because the defense is pretty bad in the d league. But I think if you can add a guy with a legitimate nba skill you have to look at him. I don't know if the knicks can fix their back court problem with a d league signing. They might be able to as some really good players have come from the d league. But I worry about being too cautious and waiting for ten day deals if there is a guy there that could be a rotation player. I think Eddie sticks this time and the fact that a team is willing to waive a player to bring him in says a lot about his talent. I think Eddie could find a place in the knicks rotation. Maybe his signing means you move Early for a pick or player. Maybe it even means you move a back court player or waive a guy (Sasha?). Nothing needs to happen as they have an open spot. I don't watch the d-league much this year because the Knicks have improved so much but Eddie is a guy that comes up a lot as an nba talent and Reichert said in a chat that he thinks he is the most likely d league player to make the jump to the nba and stay. If you get a guy like that I think it is similar to a late first round pick.

Knicks philosophy, and basic Triangle philosophy, is that they get their penetration by the pass not the dribble.
Adding shooting would help them create space inside or give kick out options to Melo or Afflalo or KP in the post...
I think they need a penetrating PG, but I worry they won't get one because of the Triangle philosophy.

Is this a solid rule? Chicago and Lakers sure had some guards who could break down their man at will. I think it's well understood that the Triangle doesn't need a traditional PG that holds the ball a majority of the time but it sure needs a player or 2 that can break down player and pass.

I mean, I agree - I want them to focus more on penetration, but Fisher has said recently "we don't look to get our penetration from the dribble, but from the pass," so we have to think that's what Fisher is thinking.
Though the minutes he gave to Jerian Grant down the stretch against Orlando may prove he secretly thinks otherwise?
To my mind though - the starting PG for those Bulls and Lakers teams were never guys who could dribble penetrate. BJ Armstrong, John Paxson, Ron Harper, Derek Fisher - not guys who beat you off the dribble. They had some change of pace PGs off the bench who did that more, but it was never really in the main offense.

they are waiting until they lock up the top spot.

Luc Mbah a Moute, now with the Los Angeles Clippers, is the only player older than 27 to appear in at least 20 games the past two seasons. Nearly three dozen NBA players have appeared in more career games than the combined total of the 12 players who have played for Philadelphia this season.Carl Landry is the team's oldest player at 32 but he has yet to make his season debut, putting too much pressure on Brett Brown and his coaching staff to teach the kids what it takes to be professional.

Yes this. And it's to the heart of why you need guys like Lou and Lance and Jose on the team. I absolutely hate the play of Jose but know the value he can bring long term, may not translate on the court but I am almost 100% assured that it will pay off for the likes of Gallo, Grant, etc.
I don't know WTF is going on with Sasha LOL

I would trade sasha to philly to help those poor needy kids.
For the last three seasons, Los Angeles Lakers guard Nick Young has played with Kobe Bryant for a total of 451 minutes. Injuries have come into play for both players but for those seven hours and 31 minutes they have played together, Young has never thrown an assist to Bryant. Not one time.
But that drought finally came to an end against the Houston Rockets on Saturday night, when Young had his first-ever assist to Bryant.
How freakin insane is that?
Frank Kaminsky with 23 pts and 7 rebounds in a lost to the Celtics.
Very impressed with his movement around the court. Lateral quickness is still so-so but better than it seemed to be in college, and he was moving around like a SF on the offensive end...cutting to the basket and putting himself into position for open 3s.
Still believe that he will eventually be a very good player in the NBA...Not sure if he ends sup being a 4 or 5 but he looked a lot better than his season's stats would indicate.
If you saw him against Boston and was not told how many years he had been in the league you would have thought that he was a 3/4 year veteran.
Folks who dismiss him or think he was a reach at 9 are going to be surprised.

This draft is loaded with potential. On any given night, majority of the 1st rounders can put up similar stats once in a while. But I think majority believe he will be a solid pro.....Just has a short ceiling. And don't forget, he's a 4 year senior, with a mature game.....So I'm not surprised.

young and kobe have always had their problems. both are cancers to the Lakers because of their large egos and both seeing who can out chuck the other.

Yeah. I thought I heard it the other way around on talk radio on Christmas Eve.
Sixers beat the suns. I didn't watch the game but the line up appears like D'antoni is having some influence. Back court was two 6'0 players, Okafor was out to rest his knee.

He's certainly sticking to his usual pattern- monster in his contract year, injured bum once signed

The rest of the pattern continues as well.
