Ok4 is putting on a show!
Zeller just looks over matched against Okafor. I don't think Boston has anyone who can guard him. The impressive thing with Okafor is he's doing most of his damage facing up off the dribble. He'll be truly unstoppable once his midrange game becomes more consistemt.
now they are hard doubling OK4 and he is not handling it well.

Yeah, he'll learn to see the defense better with more experience. Imagine if he had a real point guard.
Portland destroying the Pelicans in the 1st qtr. McCollum scores 22 which I think matches what Curry did last night.
kobe starts off 1-5 ... boy the lakers are gonna suck

As you would do Holfresh: 17 pts on 17 shots puke.

yeah 17 on 17 is very eh ... but the 12 and 8 is what is important. You need to do other things to win.

Yeah, I'm just ribbing you. He looked good besides his shooting but I do not trust him to play well at the 4 for long. He doesn't have the size or strength to bang in the blks. Indy will have to out score everyone to have a chance at a good record if they continue with this starting line up imho. They cam out well against Toronto though but could not keep it up.

positions are so much less relevant than it used to be.

It is but some things people can't do because of their size. He will get handle on defense by a lot of small ball 4s and power 4s. On top of that who is their rim protector to help him when he gets beat? Mahinmi hasn't been great so they will need Turner(love him) to be ready early. Plus, he is now a secondary rim protector with zero history in that role. Maybe he can get by by beating players to spots and taking fouls but that's tough. How long can his body last. There is a reason Lebron does not like playing the 4.

so what was the story behind him playing the 4?

I don't know its just the direction Indy wanted to go this year. They came into camp saying they wanted him at the 4. It's a copy cat league. It's weird to see someone go to sg to sf to pf in 3 straight years of playing. It's almost like Middleton when he came over from Detroit and first got to Milwaukee but he started his excellent play when he went back to sg. Go figure.
Harden with 22 pts on 21 shots. The Kardashian effect?

he was terrible from 3. He will be fine.
Looks like Rubio finally learned how to shoot. 27 pts 13 assist and counting.
JesseDark wrote:Looks like Rubio finally learned how to shoot. 27 pts 13 assist and counting.
Only 1 turnover.
Looks a bit stronger, but slower. Maybe he plays more under control.
Always thought his shooting form was OK- could never figure out why his number were not better.
Lets see him shoot like this over 10 games.
Watched the first half of the Lakers game on and off. Kobe was in full chuck mode, wasnt looking to pass. The strangest site was Russell spending most of the first half standing in a corner waiting for the ball, wasnt even bringing the ball up. No one was passing the ball to him, looked like he was being frozen out there. Dont believe they are going to get as much out of him from the 2. The kid needs the ball in his hands to do damage.
Its just one game, and I only watched a little bit, and while he put up good numbers, Randle looked like a bit of a black hole out there at times. Was passing up open teammates for tough shots. Have to watch him more, but it will be interesting to see what the dynamic between Randle, Russell, amd Kobe will be.
No Myles Turner for Indiana? Don't follow Pacers, what gives?

Definitely strange...Russell seems neutered in that backcourt.
The Kobe mystique and gravitas is one thing, but they have a 6 guard team (I'm counting Kobe as a guard-sorry), and 3 of them love to shoot the ball.
58 shots from the other guards on the Lakers last night 67, all together...all of 9 assists from guards:
Kobe- 8/24 1 assistClarkson 5/12 3 assists
Young 5/8 0 assist
Williams 6/14 1 assist
Russell 2/7 2 assists
Huertas 1/2 2 assists
