If KP rebounds and rim protects at this level on a consistent basis then maaaaan. Makes the KP-Durant-Melo lineup even more dynamic.

It's a lot of fun having a young stud to watch develop. I was so happy to see KP aggressive on the boards. I'm still not happy with how his teammates sometimes ignore him out there but over time he'll get more respect I think.

I am not sure I agree with KP starting. Right now, I think KOQ is a better option for starting, but I cannot wait to see what KP looks like in March. The kid should improve each month, and by March, he should be a consistent 10-12 pt, 8 rb, 1.5 blks type of guy if we give him 21 minutes. This team is now stocked with some talent. We just have to wait for it to mature. It is only preseason, but the Knicks look like they can make the playoffs in the East. This team looked no where near this good last preseason.
mreinman@ 10/11/2015 5:06 PM
oh crap! Did I just see KP in the post at the 4:40 second mark?

It's night and day! This is why I've been high on this team being more competitive than it was thought. Phil did a great job of adding quality guys to the roster. Guys that bring needed skills and IQ to the table. Not to mention the drafted talent.
Nalod@ 10/12/2015 7:15 AM
Not often you see a kid 7-3 move like that! Fluid shot, decent handle bringing the ball up and that smooth shot!
crzymdups@ 10/12/2015 10:39 AM
The most promising thing I saw from Porzingis so far was him saying he needed to focus on rebounding and then going out and getting 10 rebs in 20 minutes in his first game against a real NBA roster.
Kid is impressive so far.

Yeah that blew me away. KP makes you smile when you hear him saying things and doing things like that. It shows his mental approach to the game. He wants to be great and he's not just talking. He's putting in the effort on both ends.

#2 gif for me was the scariest - if he can fake and dribble like that, and pull up - that is lethal.
newyorknewyork@ 10/24/2015 2:30 PM
I'm so happy that rebounding doesn't seem to be a problem going forward.

It's a very good sign that KP has personally taken responsibility for improving this part of his game.

Exciting to see so far! That Kid Kris getting me hyped!
mreinman@ 10/24/2015 7:44 PM
the only thing that I am worried about with him is injury being that he is so skinny and brittle looking. If he can remain relatively healthy, he is going to be a really solid player.
I also love his IQ. There are so many little things that he does that may not be obvious.
nychamp@ 10/24/2015 8:17 PM
All things considered I thought he had a great game vs Boston. Gotta remember, he's a rookie! He got schooled a few times, but his IQ, instincts and desire are excellent. Changed several shots. Moved well with and without the ball. Solid on and off ball defense. Court awareness. Not to mention some of the offensive moves he showed. His shooting has been off too, throughout the whole prerseason! He will make so many bigs look silly trying to guard him when he settles down a bit. He has definitely shown the ability to rebound (something I was very concerned about after watching him in summer league), and an awareness of boxing out. He is still learning. If he remains healthy, he can be an unstoppable beast in a couple of years. My only lingering concern (aside from, god forbid, serious injuries) are his hands, they are still weak, he's getting too many balls slapped away easily from him. I'm assuming he will tighten that up with experience. He still is adjusting to the speed and strength of his opponents and I see no reason why he won't become acclimated sooner rather than later.

It is amazing how fast he changed his rebounding activity. In Summer League he did not chase down rebounds. He seems to have solved that problem after his poor rebounding performance in the 1st PreSeason game.

his shooting overall has been off in the preseason but that has a lot to do with him seeing what works and what doesn't in this offense.
he has actually hit the 3 ball at a very good rate and of that is a very important part of his game and I am sure it will stay that way.
CrushAlot@ 10/24/2015 11:30 PM
He is a gem. He tweeted a bit today and seemed to be enjoying himself.
codeunknown@ 10/25/2015 12:50 PM
Kristaps defensively makes good adjustment steps - has been very promising on this end. Shoots effortlessly. Problem solves on the floor. By far, the most important reason I'm optimistic.
Grant has the right attitude and will improve. Needs to improve his handle. Eventually, the backcourt is going to need a significant upgrade. Whether Grant fits in as a starter or strong back-up, I'm not sure.
