To add: it wasn't just about Portland, he was sucking in his return to Denver too. Analytic fans do not like AA because he is a media mirage. They call him a defensive player or two way player when in reality he is a strictly offensive player who maybe in decline. I hope/think most of his offensive woes was due to health nd he bounces back on offense this year. All I want from Afflalo is him being a consistent version of JR.

A consistent version of JR would be very very good.

Also, Afflalo will definitely benefit from the pressence of Melo on the floor - Melo getting double-teamed will create a ton of open looks for Afflalo.

a consistent version of JR would be a hall of famer.

the only consistent thing about JR is you know he's going to eventually implode

the only consistent thing about JR is that he's inconsistent.

he's consistently inconsistent!

and that sir is NOT hall of fame worthy.

Knicks1969 wrote:Knowing how Aflalo is, he is going to go all out tonight; which in my opinion is not a bad thing. His ability to guard the perimeter and RoLo's presence in the interior will transform the Knicks into the team we had in the 90s. Aflalo will be the John Starks of the 90s; except that Aflalo is a much better all around athlete and taller. Look for KOQ to play a lot more of the Oakley role.

For the first time in a long time I believe we have a well balanced roster

Don't ever disrespect my favorite player of all time, with that Aflalo comparison.

I like Stark, but favorite player of all time????

A consistent version of JR is kind of an oxymoron hahaaaa, but I know what you mean. And yeah, that would be good.

Nice. Starks is my wife's favorite player. Second for her is Spree. She really likes DWill on this team and is a huge Melo fan. She is a lot more objective than I am. She Knows more about basketball then most guys I know.

WOW! I never knew that about you. Having a wife that is into sports must be pretty interesting. My wife isn't into it at all, tho she has a passing knowledge of players because of me being such a big sports fan.

I think Afflalo is in a good spot here in NY. In fact I think Phil did a very good job of selecting guys that wanted to be here and that fit the vibe he wants the team to have. Guys can just play their roles and not have too much pressure on them.

It is nice. She lost interest in the Knicks for awhile but came back during Linsanity and watches most games with me.

You made me remember back to the 1st and only NBA game I took my wife to. We went to MSG to watch the Knicks play the Sixers back when Barkley was still there. The funny thing was my wife actually brought her Knitting with her, thinking she'd be bored. Turns out it was an exciting Knicks win, but she assumed that being at the game was the same as watching on TV. She was pleasantly surprised at how much different it was. Needless to say she didn't finish the blanket she was knitting that night.

From what I saw last night, I believe if this roster can remain healthy, the Knicks will shock a lot of people. AA is a huge upgrade when it comes to perimeter defense; as well as,offensive productivity from the SG spot
