Calederon- Reminded everyone how incredible offensively he can be. His off the ball defense was absolutely terrible today. Always losing his man off of screens or cuts.
Afflalo- His midrange shot is tough, needs to hit the open guys more though
Melo- Terrible. Was playing hard on defense but he was terrible offensively, he kept on taking those stupid contested midrange shots instead of either moving the ball or going to the rim.
KP-This guy is going to be a bucket. I like how he handled himself in tough situations and can move quickly on offense. What I really love about him is that he knows his strengths and weakneses and plays to his strengths and is improving his weakneses(marginally) every game. I really hope our fan base shows support.
Lopez- He was off today. Pretty bad on the boards and couldn't catch the ball at all today.
Early- He was okay. His defense was up and down and he had some pretty good moments as well as bad moments on offense.
Galloway- Worked his ass off on defense. His shot was off today.
Grant- Great passer. He needs to sort out his own shot, still appears a bit suspect.
OQuinn- Could have had a double double in assists and rebounds if his teammates finished the job. What a steal he was.
i arrived home to see the 2nd half:
- Dwilliams had a good shooting effort again
- Affalo got hurt. home hes ok with that hamsting. that tends to linger
- grant had some nice penetration drives
seraphin was terrible and looked really fat.
DWil had a good game an hit some threes with a nice stroke. He will need to up is efficiency from 3 since he will be taking so many.
I continued to love what I see from early.
Melo's shot selection and only 1 assist is gonna make me puke. 4-18, 0 FT's, 1 assists, 4 boards. Is this the melo that we get when he is off?
Williams poor IQ still shows at times, but he has been playing pretty well.
There's lots to say, good and bad, but I'll keep it short and simple. So far I've seen them come out for the 2nd half a lot more energetic and focused more times this preseason than almost all of last season, and that's a good sign. They're getting to the FT stripe more often as well, or at least it seems that way. That's another good sign. Early's looking better, so that's good. KP looks like he's getting more confident with every game. Hopefully nothing sets that back. Calderon is looking healthy and more aggressive to get his shots off. That's going to help.
What I don't like: Afflalo's hammy continues to act up. As mentioned in another thread, our bigs need to pick up the pace when they have to rush back on the defense. Overall, in this game and the previous game, they didn't seem as 'free flowing' on the offense as they did in the first 4 games. I'm hoping it's just a minor temporary funk and not the result of them starting to over-think what they're supposed to be doing. If they start to think too much, there will be problems.

He must not create anything.
Let him finish the play and he will be better than Melo.
But his decision making and ball handling are really bad.
Defense is just pure athleticism.
NBA stars will make a mockery of him.

But there aren't going to be too many stars coming off the bench to play against him either.
Lance Thomas is your average D leaguer on offense. I don't understand why he is featured more than two minutes each game.

There is potential for him. I'm delighted that he has shot the ball pretty damn well this pre season, and has taken really good shots this season.
His transition offense is terrible, probably the worst on our team. He needs to stop thinking too much and just play to his strengths.
If he can maintain his current shooting aswell as be more active on the boards I will be very satisfied with him coming off the bench.

It depends... some stars are playing 35-40... what will left for him to play?
If team wants scoring from the bench at his position he must defend the top players.
He has a lot of work to do and I am not sure he has brains and character to make it.
We will going to see this shortly.

Great point. We must maintain a balance to keep our offense free flowing.

Seraphin has looked really off so far. I am hoping it is just the injury. Either way, it is nice we have cover in KP, OQuinn and (I can't believe I am actually saying this) DWill.

I think Fisher and Phil really want Seraphin to be a solid rotational player for the team, but he seems to be doing his best to play himself onto the bench.
All I know is that the $124m man got out played by Jae Crowder who makes a little more than the NBA minimum.
Let's all just take a step back and start there.

When I think of Fisher and PJ, I see potentials being lost. Can we just get rid of Fisher?

No way Seraphin should be in the rotation as well as Lance Thomas--they havent earned it.
I think this is how I go
C-Lopez(and hes got to play better)
F Oquinn
-SF Anthony
-G Affalo
-Calderon
C-KP
F Williams
F Early
G Galloway
G Grant
You can even go three guards a C and Anthony. I didnt like the cohesion tonight on offense and the hustle/desire was poor.

Watch out about the "fat shaming." Recently saw the South Park episode centering around it...fat shaming is a terrible thing to do.
The episode is highly recommended, by the way.

Jae Crowder is no pushover. He has put the straps on Lebron James before. He has Kwahi Leonard potential.

Agree about Crowder. He was the heart and soul of that Celtic team when they played the cavs in the playoffs. Also, the Knicks already beat the celts so this was a game they needed more than the Knicks. Melo looked healthy, in shape and was hitting his shot like he did during the 54 win season for most of the preseason. Last night probably had something to do with his all star game appearance.
For what its worth...from a Celtic's reporter:

Strange, don't see any 4-18 performances from Lebron here:

Sure doesn't look like he got strapped at 47% FG shooting for the series sweep.
