This should be galloways job to lose. Why is it that the vets need to start. Can't we start the player who deserves it? Don't care how much you are making. Its a team game now more than ever.
I think They're doing it just how it should be done which is AA starting when he's healthy and Gallo coming in and playing with Grant. This will be a different team when we have a healthy AA in there and i think he has proven plenty over his career to show that he's a capable starter. Lets see how this team plays with AA at the starting 2 spot and lets not forget that Gallo is a youngster that will be around for a while and will still be getting plenty of minutes coming off the bench. I think all Knicks fans love Gallo for what he's done since he's been here and any Knicks fan that doesn't love Gallo has serious problems. I actually would love to see a lineup of Gallo, A.Afflalo, Melo, KP, Rolo with Grant backing up Gallo but not sure we'll see that as a starting lineup.
if Gallo continues to play this way and better than Afflalo, should afflalo start? Gallo needs to run with melo.

I think that we need galloway to play with melo to keep him in check.
You must not know much about Aflalo's game. The dude is a special two-way player folks. Wait til he is healthy you will see
he is not special ... puhlease.
He has fallen off and has been an overrated defender but I hope he can have a Luol Deng type bounce back playing with Melo. Even if he is the 6th man that would be okay. He is capable of handling the ball and creating. I just want him for his offense because he is an upgrade over sasha.
no question. Sasha sucks but I guess he brings value because he pisses the sh1t out of the other teams.
I don't think Sasha sucks. I think his defense isn't really all that bad and his offense should come after he gets adjusted back to the NBA game. Remember he's been gone from the NBA for a while. Can't remember exactly how long but i think it's been at least 3 years right??
he played in europe. Its not like he was bagging groceries. I hate players that are auto chuckers. He is terrible. Guys like that are rarely efficient.
So you're saying the european game isn't any different than the NBA game?? There's a big difference.
that is not why he is bricking shots or why he is a chucker.

What the **** are you talking about? We just got done going over this. So lets go over it again.....he's been out of the NBA for a while (like i just said) so he needs time to get adjusted and i guess you never followed him when he did play in the NBA cause if you did then you'd know he's always been a chucker. Alright now you have me sounding like i'm a fan of his and i'm not. I can't wait until AA is healthy so Sasha is out of the lineup and i can't even remember why the **** we're even arguing over this guy. Hahaha

sasha can go chuck himself.

CAUSE HE PHUCKING SUCKS!

Actually, if I remember correctly, he left during the lock out and went to Europe.
As the season progresses, I think Galloway and Grant's minutes will increase at the expense of Calderon.

Agreed.
And Galloway has really impressed me this season so far.
I thought he might take a step or two back with fewer opportunities. But he's really taken advantage of limited opportunities. He clearly put in a ton of work over the summer.

By season progress do you guys mean game 3? Langston played 28 minutes and Jose played 21 against Wash, and Langston finshed.
The Jose trade is really looking like Phil's one big snowjob

I think the minutes will shift even more with Galloway and Grant playing more like 28-30 minutes every night and Calderon down to 15 or so. It's not a huge shift from where it is now, but I think we'll continue to see G & G play more and more and Calderon play less and less.
Calderon's a good dude and hopefully a leader of sorts... but his defense hasn't just been bad, he's clearly incapable of moving his feet quickly enough to do it. It's not a question of him being bad at this point - he's just physically unable to do it. Not his fault, because the effort is there, but father time is a cruel mofo.

this... I can see him taking a Brewer type role. He gets the first 7-8 minutes of the half, plays his 15ish a game and Fisher finishes the game based on matchups.
Jose's biggest problem is everything Langston does screams more minutes. He scores, he's our best defender and he plays the hardest. Galloway is a 30mpg guard, hands down. AA should take Jose and Sasha's minutes.
mreinman wrote:"Galloway has the 8th highest TS% in the Association (73.2%), per basketball-reference.com and the highest offensive rating in the association (160.3!!!). Insert caveat here about how it’s only three games and how these numbers are utterly unsustainable, but it’s not unreasonable to expect an uptick in shooting from a 24-year-old. Unsustainable or not, Galloway and company have pushed the Knicks to the third-highest offensive rating in the league."
yea saw that from the P&T guys. Galloway had big scoring games last year. Nice to see those shots sticking with a better team and for a winning cause.
Gallo and Jerian continuing to develop is HUGE for this team. Gotta hope Afflalo can get healthy which would give us 3 solid guards in the rotation. They can cover a large part of the available minutes for this team. Gotta think Phil is really spending his time trying to solve the Jose issue. Even if Jose gets his shot going he'll never be able to provide any kind of defense, so eventually he's going to be replaced. For now he has to balance his poor D with much more efficient offense. That's usually what he provides but has been a bit off so far. Fish has to watch Jose's minutes when he's not shooting well. If he's hot then he can at least be a net 0 player rather than a negative.
