What exactly is hate?
If you believe that after 5 years that perhaps Melo AND the team would be served by trading him to a team more prepared to contend while we change over to a new identity ourselves?

if that was the tone Killa would still be posting. Is that the tone? No... its MElo is cancer, fat, hates NY, is a bad guy, no leadership, sabotaged Phil, hated the draft, doesnt support his team since he didnt go to Vegas.. one stupid thing after another.

That is hate. I guess you just gloss over it and start a new thread?

For me too, brother. I'm rarely on these days unfortunately for this exact reason. We're roughly from the same era on this board. I wish it was how it used to be.

+1

Hope this becomes a more welcoming environment for you guys. Only so much posters can do on their own to change the tenor of this board.

So to set this straight:

Melo = Obama
Melo supporters and jock holders = Democrats
Critics and Level headed Knicks fans = Republicans and Fox News

Guess it's a good analogy. I voted for Obama in 08, same as I supported Melo in '11. Didn't vote at all in '12 due all the candidates sucking including Obama. Without going into politics, things changed for the worst overall. Now are you going to stick by the bad president/bad player, or look to turn a new leaf KP6/KOQ/Galloway-Grant?

Carmelo has not been shooting the ball well, but he has been making positive plays. He is a scorer and approaches the game as such. For most of you to pounce on the dude as you have tonight is really unfair. He is the ONLY player on our roster that can put up 20+ points per night. If he doesn't take his shots, who do we have that can score the basket?

I for one am rooting against the knicks to lose

Lol

mreinman @ 11/3/2015 3:54 PM
I would bet that anti melo posters are mostly democrat and that the percentage of them being democrat is way higher than the pro melo group.

He is not playing well. Period.

Normally if you don't play well, you sit, but not in his $124m case. I get it. He sells tickets, sells jerseys, sells LaLa to Maino etc. Truth is, in a basketball sense, he doesn't bring much to the table, except for the occasional efficient scoring outburst 1 out of 4 games...

Doesn't play D (see Kawhi Alley Oop, post and toast, and open 3 pointer), doesn't pass unless doubled or tripled (3.1 career assist average and 3.5 this season), doesn't provide any sort of real leadership. He's a true 1 dimensional suck hole. Just check out his average plusminus for the season(-2.7). If he's not scoring at a efficient rate...he ain't helping the team. PERIOD.

The only dude Who in my opinion deserves to be criticized is Calderon. He has been horrendous since last season and has no place in the starting 5.

Carmelo is definitely getting too much criticism around here

Exhibit A, B, C, Z of why he who shall not be named deserves criticism from now until beyond the grave

Let's see, pass the phucking ball or take it up against 2 of the greatest defenders known to man? Phuck it, let's get buckets!

and I think that this is the play where he just argued with the refs instead of getting back on defense. Clyde called it out too which was nice.

people always complain that the refs dont give him calls. The refs don't give you calls as much when it looks like you are forcing the issue. And btw, melo seems to be getting lots of calls this year. Some more footwork and head fakes would be really nice too and it would save his body from so much of a beating. Every time he drives on 3 or 4 guys I think that how can this guy stay healthy?

I thought Melo was fouled twice on that play, once on the elbow by Duncan (on the reverse angle you can see Tim clearly hitting his arm) and then on the head by Lenard.

You can see the slowmo at 1:37 that it's a clean block by Leonard with help from Duncan

It immediately leads to a wide open fast break 3 by Leonard because Melo was busy arguing with the ref.

THAT is not hate. I happen to agree with that. We would probably be better served. However, there are a number of people here who criticize his every step. That is irritating. There are also people who like to kiss his ars even if he punches babies. That's also annoying. Just tell the truth y'all.

Duncan definitely got Melo on the arm, can't tell by that angle if Leonard got Melo's head or not, thought he did

If player is the face of the franchise, should this team fans be a fans of this player regardless?
If yes, should fan who cannot stand this player stop rooting for the team?
If fan do not like what his team owner, management are doing or does not like how some players of the team are conduct themselves, should this fan stop supporting his favorite team?
Should anyone on the board have a right to state his opinion even if it is not in favor for certain team players or the whole organization?
Difficult questions with easy answers.

Here are a couple of recent threads from the offseason that standout. But this stuff is posted every day. Some nights game threads are basically spammed with Melo hate. Not sure how you are missing it.

Agree. Wish you guys would come back and post more. I have posted here for a long time. It definitely is a different climate. I went from a poster that didn't like the Melo trade to being called a Melo lover. Of course none of the guys that say that were posting here back then but times change I guess.
