The stuff that gets posted about the guy is pretty incredible.

Let's see, pass the phucking ball or take it up against 2 of the greatest defenders known to man? Phuck it, let's get buckets!
I thought Melo was fouled twice on that play, once on the elbow by Duncan (on the reverse angle you can see Tim clearly hitting his arm) and then on the head by Lenard.
You can see the slowmo at 1:37 that it's a clean block by Leonard with help from Duncan
It immediately leads to a wide open fast break 3 by Leonard because Melo was busy arguing with the ref.
Duncan definitely got Melo on the arm, can't tell by that angle if Leonard got Melo's head or not, thought he did
number one that is melo's left, and non-shooting elbow that initiates contact--always-- so it's 50-50, number two leonard has already stuffed that foolishness.

And some choose not to post in said forum because in most cases they seek an intellectual discussion on the game and the team and do not wish to engage in a single mindedness that all discussions seemingly gravitate to..Based on merit or not..It gets old quickly..

If Duncan's arm is straight up then maybe he's OK, but it aint. And he get's Melo's arm all the way thru the play until the end. Maybe leonard got a block, I thought the other angle showed him swiping head.

This is part why I stopped doing much posting ( beside producing 3 albums). I got sick and tired of the hate Melo posters. And the same old posters saying the same old thing on almost every thread. It is like some of these guys are post addicts. Melo will get it together. One good thing and that is when the Knicks and Melo have a great game the Melo haters seem to disappear and troll the forum.
gunsnewing@ 11/3/2015 8:27 PM
Instead of refraining from posting all together how about we wait until the Knicks with Melo become a legitimate contender. I guarantee you there will be very little Melo hate if any. This is the year for the Knicks to show drastic improvement and the initial step towards building a winning culture and ultimately contending. It's put up or shut up time for Melo. As others have said, you better believe Phil and Fish are trying to finally get through to him. He will either be better for it or it's going to be sayonara Melo to Washington, Charlotte or Chicago.

It's a stupid argument..You can't be a contender without all stars on your roster...When you come up against 5 hall of fame players on the Spurs roster and then lose, later start a thread saying you can't win with Melo, it's a bit misleading..Silly to be honest...Knicks are not built to compete at the next level..Spurs are honing their skills for the playoffs, toying with us as ATL was...Spurs weren't playing hard at all..Aldridge didn't play the entire second quarter..
I personally want to see Melo traded..I'm a big fan of the game..I want to see if he has what it takes to compete at the next level..I want to see that of all top players in this league..I wanted to see it here but that won't happen given our off season..The Clippers had big time trouble last year because their "stars" couldn't take the next step..Curry took the next step in the playoffs and it was great to see him grow as a player...You saw both instances plain as day..That's what this is all about..Ain't about getting your favorite player in Uni..I want to see competitive ball...I could care less who is in Uni as long as we win..

There was plenty of hate directed his way when the team won 54 games. I don't see why it will change in the future.

I don't believe that statement for a bit. Knicks had the game down to 4 or 5 points in the 4th. And Leonard and Duncan played 36, 35 minutes respectively and that is way more than their averages, especially considering the back-to-back. Aldridge played 32. Perhaps the Knicks were beating down the doors more than they would like, but this was a game.

there was a lot of love for kidd all around. smart fans want to see teams and players play the right way. A brand of basketball that can win even if you are not red hot. There was so much wrong with the way that team played.
I remember JR taking a couple of horrible shots to win games. Fans here swore how great the shots were but they were terrible. A perfect sign of what to expect from playoffs JR just without the stupid shots falling.
in todays game you see all the good teams move the ball really well. Chucking is just not acceptable anymore. People have been after kobe for many years for the same sh1t.
No amount of blind defenders will change this.

not really. I mean we had flaws despite winning 54 games but fans were pretty psyched that year

ok good call on the duncan's arm not being straight up but to me that play is all about leonard's block which is all ball.

How it used to be? Like how we used to criticize Marbury for much of the same things? Another tumultuous era in post-Ewing Knicks basketball

that team was tissue paper thin, poorly coached, and with a lead player with a 3:1 usage to assist rate ratio. not much to root for. some saw the regular season success as a facade, others relished every win without context. by the way, did you know that his dbpm was an inexcusable negative 2.3?
it brings to mind what popovich said last night about leonard. he said that there are superstars that don't play defense but are called superstars and then there is a player like leonard who plays both ends of the court. he was talking about melo of course.... i guess popovich is a hater too.

That team had nothing left that spring but still got the second seed in the east. Why was that?
gunsnewing@ 11/3/2015 9:42 PM
And Marbury never got to play with guys like Amare and Tyson. He was forced to play with guys like Curry, Crawford Tim Thomas & Francis. And now Melo has KP who might eventually be better than all those guys.
Would Melo fair as well playing next to Keith Van Horn, Mutumbo and Doleac as Marbury did until Isiah blew that's team up for Tim Thomas & Nazr? Put up or shut up time. That is where I'm at
