Knicks · Forget Beal go get Fournier (page 1)

yellowboy90 @ 11/5/2015 8:18 AM
Yes, I said it, two tears in a bucket bump it. I think I may have been wrong about him. He has started the season on a year but I've been noticing hia improvement since last year. He has pretty good handle but plays well off the ball. Plus he has great size for a two at 6'7 200+ lbs. His defense needs work but he seems to be improving on that area. The guy just turned 23 so his prime is a few years away. There is not much real statistical or style difference from him and Beal. The only thing is Beal played on a better team.

Now all of his good points are reasons for Orlando to keep him. However, they have him playing the 3 and Tobias at the 4 but they have Gordan pushing for time and Mario in the wings. Do Orl believe in him or will they pump him for picks like they did Afflalo?

smackeddog @ 11/5/2015 10:54 AM
He's a restricted FA I think, so it's not going to happen
Finestrg @ 11/5/2015 11:07 AM
Fourier's been mentioned before on this board. Not a bad name at all. I'd take that dude.

The one FA I'm really interested in is Jordan Clarkson. I love that kid--he's got such a versatile, smooth, mature game. I saw 90% of the lakers/Nuggests replay from a couple of days ago and he was awesome...He's still my top FA target as of right now -- someone I'd be prepared to throw a lot of money at. I just don't see how we're getting Kevin Durant. The cap is expected to balloon and OKC can offer him the most money by far, he's already got Russell Westbrook there (Enes Kanter and Serge Ibaka who aren't too shabby either) and if Melo's still on the Knicks by then, I question the fit. Plus he's had foot trouble which is always gonna be a concern esp. when you're talking about a max offer. I don't think there's a shot in hell Durant's coming here. We won't have enough money to make a max offer to this guy anyway. One guy we might have the money for though is Clarkson. I think it's just a matter of time before Clarkson's an all-star--might even be this year. I believe he's restricted so it'll take a huge offer sheet but it could be a real shrewd move and a wise investment if we could ever get him. Allen Crabbe's another guy I like for us as a big shooter--UFA and probably much more realistic.

Another thing I could see happening -- if Melo's still here, I bet there's a chance we make a run at Kobe Bryant, maybe on a 1 or 2 year deal. He's won under Phil (both guys may feel they owe each other a little bit to try it again, this time in NY), he's tight with Melo, he's been a teammate of Fisher's (I'm sure they have each other's respect) and you know he's the ultimate competitor--I bet he'd be psyched and up for the challenge. I could see Melo and Kobe both bringing out the best in each other. I don't want him on a long-term deal or anything--but if he's open to a 1 year deal at a reduced figure and we can't land anyone else substantial, shit, why not man?? It very well might be a shot worth taking -- it's a move you make to try win with Melo.

he may finally be the orlando player that I really like

That being said Orlando is keeping him(imho)

Fournier is 6'7"? Wow.
newyorknewyork @ 11/5/2015 3:11 PM
I was gonna make this thread also. There is a chance Orlando lets him walk due to having Olapido Herzona.
clyderules @ 11/5/2015 3:39 PM
If he can get easy buckets on the fast break then he's just not right for this team.

Depending on the development of Herzonja and Gordon, there may actually be a legit chance they won't resign him for big money. Gordon will probably get into the lineup next year and could move Harris to the 3. Oladipo will remain the 2 and Herzonja is probably the 6th man. Things will get pretty tight for them at the 2 and 3.

Yeah and after a slow start he's really come on the past few games. i think he's averaging 20/game on the season. He's really emerged as a very good player.

Please no Kobe. Locker room killer and doesn't offer anything anymore. Wade is still a good player on both ends.

He's off to a bad start but if you've watched any of the Lakers' games, it looks like he's still moving around well, getting his shots off. Closest thing to Michael Jordan the league has ever seen. Best player in the league for sooooooooo many years. Let's see if he turns it around. Still a lot of season left. Believe me, I'd prefer to go in a much different direction but if by the end of the year he regains his form somewhat, teaming Melo up with his boy Kobe might be something we take a look at esp. on a reasonable 1-yr deal. If it didn't work, thanks a lot, enjoy your retirement. What if it did work and they galvanized each other and this city? I understand, he's probably cooked but let's see how he does this year.

Kobe for the last few years has been the worst cancers to his team then any other athlete.

And, though he was a great player, he should NEVER be mentioned in the same breath as michael jordan.

Guys, C'MON! Just two seasons ago, we were talking about the Knicks as a geriatric unit. Let's not revisit those days. Do you think either player would come to the Knicks for the veterans' minimum? Or even a reasonable contract? Stick to the plan: Youth and Development, please

For the right price, I would love to have Wade here. The guy is a true leader and plays the right way. He would be a great influence on our young kids.

And, he still looks really good.
