IN the Bob Smith movie "Dogma" staring Ben Aflack, Chris Rock, Matt Damon and others there is a scene about "Mooby's"

Matt Damons character "Loki" is an angel who is very put off by this fast food company and the idolization of its mascot which is a golden calf. Its a take on when the Jews left Egypt and wandered the Desert for 40 years in part because they were losing their way and starting idolizing a golden calf to which god punished them for it. There is more to it than this, but this is the UK, not Sunday school.

Fast forward a few thousand years and In NYC we have a trade that many of us did not want and this occurred:

Melo is treated like a victorious here returning home (he was 8 when he left NY for Baltimore)to a team depleted of its roster.
Some took it more like this:

MSG has over the years promoted Melo to the point he really cannot, or ever could fulfill the hype. In part because he is "Just" and allstar and not the game transforming player like Jordan, Wilt, Kareem etc. He is who he is and we have spend enough time on this. MSG serves up the Koolaid and some fans take great offense to this. Some have just accepted Melo as a knick and rolls with it (like me). I was not in favor of the trade but "whattayagonnado?" Others drink the Sweet Koolaid and love Melo and all the Melo'ness that goes along with it.

Then there are the Haters who won't be fooled by MSG propaganda.

Nalod's take is until the knicks with Melo accomplish something and create important moments (big shots in big games with significance) then Melo and the great divide will continue.
Hero's cannot be created, they need be earned!

Good post, too much promotion by MSG network putting Melo on a pedestal. He's isn't worthy and just of the non stop interviews and takes like he's a once in a generational superstar.

He ain't no Hero, that's for sure. Hasn't brought one ring nor a Finals appearance in the 5 years he's been here.

Chuck you have to also understand while while the propaganda machine maybe obnoxious to some, so does extreme hate. There is a middle ground that most UK participants are in that zone.

I have to say that your relentless Melo hate is as obnoxious as the MSG promotion of Melo. You assume we are all blind to what we see on the court. Some that "defend" Melo are just putting facts out there and just accept the trade is what it is and who Melo is. We hope as the roster changes and elevates so does his role.

You might not have any hope, but slamming him only promotes defending him. I think if you left it alone you'll see less "Love" as his game will speak for itelf either way.

I didn't realize you had to be a Hater to not be fooled by 'propaganda'. Interesting. By the way, it's Kevin Smith, not Bob Smith. Are you guys mad that he got 4 assists in a couple of games already, despite the fact that the team as a whole has not yet built fluid chemistry on the court yet? Yeah, you're mad teeheehee. I think you guys are the ones that are actually in love with the guy, and he makes you feel so guilllllllllty about it LMFAO!

Really, start a Melo hate thread. It might not be a sticky but if well participated it will stay. If not, Im sure you have daily Moobyism's to keep it afloat and full of conversation. The Alba thread is not "Sticky" (maybe for some of you it is) but it stays relevant because of the participants.
