remember last year, before Melo got hurt, we had a big win or two - and then proceeded to collapse.
No doubt, its early.
But I don't want to hear Mike Breen talk about how Afflalo is going to change things.
Our starting back court wouldn't get anything but garbage time on 90% of the teams in the league.
Melo has one good game in four.
The first win was against a depleted bucks team and a tired washington team. So i wouldnt say flukes but we had the advantage. We also blew 2 games
Technically Melo 1 good game in 6.
Zero points from $124m man in the 4th quarter. Zero from the starting back court.
Fish, please stop the bleeding. Can't trail by 14th in the 1st half because of Hose-Zay and Sharapova and expect to pull it out.
Cant really gauge how good this team can be until Afflalo is back, and Calderon and Sasha are benched.
I disagree. This team has a lot of fight. Fish had to coach against the Wiz but the Knicks had the Bucks game won. I do think the Knicks need to address the back court. Sasha seems like the better of the pair and he is a 15 minute a night guy at best.
Let's keep in mind who the four L's are too, Atlanta, San Antonio, Cleveland and Milwaukee. All good playoff teams
We are 2-4 against 6 playoffs teams. Is that really that bad?
And we were in all of those games in the 4th besides the Atlanta game
Last yr we had no promising young talent other then Gallo. KP getting better each game holds more meaning.

Oh dude, make no mistake about it, if AA stays healthy, he will change things. Are you kidding? How could he NOT change things if his presence automatically cuts either Calderon's or Sasha's minutes? It's simple math.

Yes and the Knicks are clearly not at their best yet. No Afflalo! Melo still getting it together. Jose and Sasha just bricking it up... IMO you can see how this team can fix its main issues. Replace Jose in the SL and get Afflalo back would be a start. Phil is gonna wait for the right time to bring in help at guard. It's only a matter of time.
The good news is KP and G&G look great. DWill and KOQ are also looking like they will be good players for this team. There's a ton of upside for this team.
Windhorst said that this chunk of the schedule is one of the worst he has ever seen for a team. It could get worse before it gets better. This will be a good test of Fisher's ability to keep them motivated. This could be a good trial by fire for Fisher if he learns from his mistakes.

Yeah, nd I'm still really liking the RoLo and KP frontcourt. That combo is getting better every game.
Yes i understand the schedule is tough but i felt we have let a couple games slip away. I dont really believe in moral victories. Having played basketball all my life ive play on both good and bad teams and a loss is a loss no matter the strength of the opponent

This schedule is BRUTAL! Lots of tough games ahead this month. Still they have to win the few winnable games starting Sunday against LA. I wonder if Fish will make the change for that game or just go with a quick hook if Jose stinks again. It's gonna happen eventually just wondering when.

its good that you have come around in regards to calderon..he is brutal and that trade sucked. Grant and galloway are so much more productive

I understand your point but also this is a team that was gonna have some early chemistry issues and the absence of Afflalo really messed up the plan. No shame in losing to the team's they've lost to. Just hope they get it going sooner than later. There are very good signs in these losses. You can see a path to wins at some point.

I haven't come around. I'm just stating the obvious. Jose wasn't this bad when we traded for him. This is a rapid decline that wasn't expected. It happens sometimes where a player just gets old all of a sudden. The year we got him he was still an efficient scorer and play maker so it's only a bad trade due to his unexpected rapid decline. There was no way to know this would happen based on how he was playing, including his playoff performance that year. He played well and looked like he still had somethings left in the tank.

I agree. But it is time to adjust to Jose's decline.
