i thought to myself during the break that with 3 minutes left in the third that win or lose, that THIS is the knick team i want to watch and root for. if i'm fisher it is galloway starting for calderon. enough is enough! that said, dumb plays by the end of the game, with melo's behind the back pass/turnover being the catalyst. why does he even try to make that pass for fukk sake? that's just so egregious and he had been playing so well the first three quarters. the main takeaway is: NO MORE CALDERON AND WHEN AFFLALO RETURNS NO MORE VUJACIC.
kp what can be said about this kid?? the knicks are blessed and, following up on last game, he is not only the ballast of this team, but he is emerging as the most important player period, or at the very least as important as melo. he bothers EVERYONE on defense. if that was all he did it would be worth the #4 pick. but 9 offensive rebounds?!? too bad he ran out of gas. 24 minutes is all he can do at this point. if fisher didn't insist on starting both calderon AND vujacic then this would not be an issue and we could see him out there for 28 effective non-winded minutes. the closeout on henson was with his legs in mud and his court vision not there from lack of oxygen.
melo he played *great* for three quarters and then fell off a cliff. 6 assists yes.... 5 assists no, but i did not pay as much attention to the turnovers because we saw some GREAT passing from him. i counted 5 bad shots too, which is not what you want. but this is the thing at this point: any decent defender with length is going to give carmelo problems this season. this isn't about "lift on his shot" this is about youth being served. leonard, the greek, who else?
williams his most useful function will be as placeholder for melo, who needs to play no more than 30-32 minutes a game.
galloway he MUST be the knicks starting point guard. come on fisher.
o'quinn and thomas solid contributors who are finding a way to produce in limited minutes. good young bench players.
grant looked good in spurts but he needs to understand his limitations and adapt. offseason he needs to shoot 500 jumpers every day and work on a stop and pop, some ball and head fakes. this is the nba with taller, quicker, longer players.
KP is the best 2 way player on the Knicks. PERIOD.
Need more plays run for him. His potential is off the charts.
Grant needs more than 23 minutes. Hose-zay really does have naked dik picks of Fisher it seems.
Galloway is sooo dam gritty and clutch. Needs to start ASAP.
Melo......6 assists in 1st half then said phuck it I'm not passing anymore in the 2nd half, these other Knicks stealing my shine.
even the postgame shill-meisters are murmuring about the backcourt now.
I'm still so pissed at Fisher I can't think about anything else right now lol. He knows he messed up big time.

I thought he was trying to give Grant a blow since he had gone hard for a stretch going coast to coast. At least that was my initial thought on why he took Grant out. I could be wrong.

I wasn't that upset about him taking out Grant. He needed and deserved a blow after the way he was getting knocked around. He should've had either O'Q or RoLo out there with KP. And he should NOT have had DWill and Melo together. That just reeks of disaster at crunch time at this point.

Dude, slow down. The kid is young and will need a couple of years to develop. I guarantee if he struggles for along period like all young kids, you will be the first to want to trade him

agreed that you never want to see williams and melo out there together.

Nope. I know what he is. I know he's not an all star yet, and not ready for 30-35 minutes a game yet. I know he just turned 20 and will get pushed around from time to time.
That said, no one on the team has the floor impact of this kid. Kid's bball IQ is off the charts.
Trade him, no phucking way. Same goes with Grant and Galloway. Melo and the other old phucks are the only phuckers I wish we could trade like yesterday.

Another off the wall Melo post from you. If we didn't have arguably the worst starting backcourt in the league, everybody would be better off but always comes back to Melp with you. It's really disappointeding bc it prevents you from contributing at all. Dk openly hates him but at least makes an effort to be objective. If a respectable backcourt he has 10 assists tonight and we win. The shots Sasha and Jose missed in the 1st quarter need to be made with some regularity in this league. No excuse for that and it's on nobody but the 2 of them, Jackson and Fisher.

I'm being totally objective. 2 points from our starting backcourt tonight. EVERY. ONE. IN. THIS. FORUM. KNOWS. WHAT. MUST. HAPPEN.
That said, guess how many points your favorite player had in the 4th quarter. ZERO from the $124m man. Try spinning and absolving blame for that one.

Unfortunately, I was unable to watch the 4th tonight. He is clearly no back and doesn't have the legs in the 4th. No arguement there. I'm just sick of zero backcourt production for 5 yrs. Would bc nice if Melo not being on fire in the 4th wasn't an automatic loss. We are making progress but it's gonna be a while.
I know you love mentioning the contract but even you must admit it doesn't look as terrible with the deals that were handed out this summer. Contracts got crazy across ths league in a hurry.

Lol! Very true. Probably nobody. Brooklyn's is pretty horrendous, so if somebody felt like saying it's notthe absolute worst I wanted them to have that opportunity.

I forgot that Jabari Brown is out there too. You could start Galloway and Afflalo and have Grant and Brown come in for the second unit. That would be a vast improvement.

I think Jabari was exploring playing in China.
