The team is learning - they're gonna take some lumps. San Antonio and Cleveland are championship contenders. Atlanta won't beat Cleveland, but has a hell of a shot at getting back to the ECF.

Patience is needed. KP and Grant are learning things every game. Knicks are still learning to use Afflalo and play with him. Melo and Calderon and Afflalo are still playing their way into game shape and getting in rhythm.

It's gonna take time. They're better than their record right now - they've played a hard schedule. Look at the early December schedule and take a deep breath.

This team doesn't have a clear idea of exactly how they will win games. So far all they have is Melo and that's not enough. BABY STEPS! They have to work on how they close games.

What information do you have that none of us are privy to?

How can you not be experimenting with the roster at this point in the season? Injuries, recovering players, rookies, and guys who have never played with each other, or for you as a coach...On what basis do you determine who plays, unless you see players play...as individuals and in different combinations.

I was prepared for early growing pains, and there have been some, but this team seems to be holding its own against good teams, despite some disappointing loses.

I think the rotation will take a more definite shape as the season moves along, and guys rise and fall based on performance, and this is how it should be.

Fisher will earn his money by keeping the team motivated and playing hard, despite the setbacks, something he was able to do last year despite the terrible record.

Fisher has yet to prove that he knows how to manage a fruitful lineup. Last year he used more starting lineups than any young coach that I have ever seen. What makes you think that he will ever change????

Last year's team was a pretty lame...you change lineups because they are not working, or because you feel that this or that player might do better in a certain situation.

I suppose that I just see things as a work in progress. I also know that he has a coaching staff he talks to and Phil has said he would be more active, so I'm trusting that this is true.

We complained about him using Sasha too much...now that Aflalo is healthy he no longer plays, and this tells me he saw enough of Sasha.

We complained about Jose, and Fisher stuck with him, and he's doing better.

A number of guys around here wanted to coddle KP and start Williams or KOQ...any of those guys complaining about KP starting now?

Amundson healthy and looking good, so he gets more time and has some moments.

Should he have brought the starters back before he did in the Charlotte game...yup, but then again Anthony is clearly not back all the way, as he does not seem to be able to maintain the same level of play throughout the entire game...frequently slowing down in the 2nd half.

I'm just taking a more positive, and I like to think more rational, view of how this team is progressing.

Things will change as some guys get healthy, others gain experience, and everyone learns how to play together and what it takes to win. You already see some good things on the court...I expect to see a lot more as the season progresses.

Yeah, this team was projected to win around 25 to 32 games. And the OP thinks they should be 8-2 right now?!

I get the frustration, the team is losing games they could be winning. I for one would like to see some playoff basketball this year, and giving games away like this won't get the team there. The East as a whole looks better, 38 wins isnt going to cut it this year. I don't believe people would mind so much if we had our pick, even if we had to swap with Denver.

I agree with this only because fisher is giving players like lance and Lou roles they are not suppose to be in, those 2 are bench players on a lottery team, let alone a playoff contender.

The role D will had in the preseason where he was avg 18/19 points, is the role he should continue to have, you were winning, scoring, getting to the ft line and running. He has taking those minutes and splitting them between 2 bench players who may give you a good game every blue moon, and now your not scoring, your not running, and your taking a hell of lot less ft, and worse, your losing more.

I kept hearing fisher stress the importance in getting off to a good start, and he continues to out smart himself. It seems more like Fisher wants to be this unconventional coach, who goes too far outside the box, or completely against the grain.

You can see the chemistry clicking with the first unit because it's consistently the same, which was the case for the second unit in the preseason and first few games. So I ask myself, why did you go away from what was working....just so you can experiment, dude preseason is over.

But at least last night he owned up to the BS he's been doing in his post game comments , so all of you who are defending his moves sound ridiculous.

That's a blanket statement and could apply to a number of things that happened on the court against the Cleveland Cavaliers. But part of the focus on Friday's 90-84 loss to the Cavaliers should lie with lateDerek Fisher put the onus on himself.

"I have to do a better job of putting guys in position to be successful out there," the coach said. "They're doing what we're asking them to do."
