Knicks · One big focus tonight (page 1)

BRIGGS @ 11/17/2015 6:56 AM
Need to get Lopez and Porzingis better shots. Lopez has been non existent on the offensive end 3 straight games--he especially needs to contribute and getting him some good looks earlier is helpful.
NYKBocker @ 11/17/2015 8:40 AM
We need to make sure the Jeremys are contained.

Lopez is simply having a hard time finishing in the paint. He has touched the ball enough, but not converting

I said before the first preseason game that the biggest issue that the coaching staff will have was knowing who to play and when. In a season where we have a pretty deep roster, everyone is healthy. That's a shock within itself, and makes matters that much more difficult.

It makes zero sense to have your 4 biggest acquisitions (derrick, lopez, quinn, affalo...30 million dollars) playing sporadic minutes with no real defined role, and the more inconsistent they play them is the more inconsistent they'll be on the court.

The roles that he has given lance and admundson is crazy. In 2 clutch situations lance was giving the role as the inbound passer, 1 was a lob that was to low, and KP bobbled the pass just below the rim, wide-fckn-open, the 2nd one was the game winner that didn't count, again lance gave him the ball to low which force him to gather rather than just shoot.

Remember the inbound pass Kidd gave to JR smith to win it against the suns, the pass was better than the shot. Even though there was more time on the clock, jr tripped which should have thrown off the timing, and he still made the shot with one motion,

Why on earth was lance giving the responsibility..Cmon maan, you have to figure this out sooner than later. i'll give fisher a lot of credit for setting up both plays which got kp wide open, but he use the wrong player to execute it.

Can't believe so many guys want to give minutes to people who haven't played well. Good coaching is making guys earn minutes.

No! Its based on what I think.

clyderules @ 11/17/2015 9:53 AM
Lin killed us last game. I think that we need a taller mobile guy to stay with him and alter his shot. Early?
nychamp @ 11/17/2015 3:21 PM
Last game vs charlotte Gallo and Sasha got abused by Lin and the cha backcourt. Badly. Let's see if Afflalo makes a difference containing them tonight.

It really felt like Lin's eyes lit up when he realized he could hurt his old team. It was personal for him. Hopefully they contain him a little more this time.

clyderules @ 11/17/2015 4:02 PM
Afflalo played in the last game too. I'd like to see Early get a chance to harass Lin and Batum a little. How many bigs do we need to dress?

Dwill scores 24 points and we blow out the bucks in our first game, he was rewarded with less minutes every game since. Explain that

His terrible play since then? He's blown defensive assignments, made careless turnovers, taken horrible rushed shots on offense.

His net plus/minus per game for the year so far is -8.

Kristaps is plus 7.

Jerian Grant is plus 13.

Langston Galloway is plus 6.

Lou Amundson is plus 1.5

Lance Thomas is minus 1.2

What games are you watching? Giving a guy minutes doesn't magically transform into results.

crzymdups @ 11/17/2015 5:03 PM
If you guys want to see what a bad coach looks like, check out the job Byron Scott is doing in LA. It's terrible.

so he went from having a really good camp for over a month, to turning into a 6 minute players in a matter of 4 games.

Tell me, in the first few games when sasha and calderone where playing like crap, why didn't their minutes get reduce to token minutes. Galloway has had a couple of bad defensive games, grant can't shoot and had some careless TO's, and lance has had one solid outing this entire season, yet you stick with.

D will is a energy guy, who's going to up the pace and get to the free throw line, how is that not useful

Precisely what I have been trying to convey in my thread, but most cats around here simply can't understand that. one simply can't be evaluated in just one game. Give the dude a dose of 20 minutes for 5 games and see what he can do. If those numbers look bad, then please use another Player

EnySpree @ 11/17/2015 6:22 PM
We need to run the offense not force feed guys.... each player has to know when to shoot when they are open.

I thought everyone hates Iso-Melo?... so now we have to iso Rolo and KP? Stop.

The offense creates plenty of opportunities. Guys have to execute and let the defense dictate who takes the shot.

Yeah. I have him on one of my fantasy teams and he hasn't been putting up numbers the past few games. It seems like they could have forced him to his left more.

And if they go 0-5 in those 5 games they're giving 20 minutes a night to a guy who is blowing defensive assignments and killing them? DWill is getting 14mpg right now - he can earn more by playing smarter and harder.

He was an ugly ugly -12 against Charlotte in 4 minutes. Knicks lost that game by 2.
