I also think the Kardashian / Odom thing must be a distraction for Harden.

Forgot about Ty Lawson. I wonder if he has had a negative effect on team.

Seems burned out, even though he is playing 36MPG...his shooting has been terrible, especially from the 3, where it has been in decline since his rookie year. Not going to the line much, and his assists are also down (Which makes sense when you play next to Harden).

Saw him the other day, and although he is only 28, his face made him look like he was 34/35.

Sad story for a guy who was a tough little player when things seemed to be going well.

Yeah, he seems like he's aging prematurely. Reminded me of what happened to Steve Francis. I think alcohol abuse involved in both cases.

Not sure if Lawson is a bad influence on the team or not, but I don't think his style of play works for that team at all. And his game has definitely fallen off in the past couple of years.

Dwight is a child, Harden might be swimming in his self absorption due to his 200mil adidas contract and Starphucking with the that toxic KHardasian twat, and Lawson is not THAT guy!
Good owner who gets it and had huge respect for McHale.

From what was written the "Point of no return" and McHale crossed the line. Likely a mix of all the above. George Karl can fix this thing quickly. Be a win-win for Sac to move on and Rockets can make a run.
Maybe Karl knows how to make Lawson tick.

Khloe Kardashian... I just googled it. Gross. Now if ROLO was dating her I would get it... both are wookies.

Toxic family. Gross people.

It shows the status quo of the NBA. Even if it isn't the coaches fault, you fire the coach. It's always the first thing that they need to try. That being said, i don't think he is to blame at all. I think they overachieved last season, and it put McHale on a shorter leash, even if he has a team full of questionable character guys, as we have discussed in this thread.

Now's the perfect time for another "How's it goink" tweet from Phil about analytics...

really, you had to google it? My wife has no clue about the kardashians- I don't watch it, but at least am aware of what is happening, as much as I might want to ignore it.

Good for you!

lol thanks. I knew Odom was dating the wookie Kardarshian... didnt realize she moved onto the beard.

I miss alot of this stuff these days. I stopped watching all TV a few years ago and never looked back. I watch sports and movies now and thats it. No shows. No reason other than I wanted more time to do what I loved. Hanging with the kids, astronomy, playing guitar, my dogs... I just dropped TV because of the time crunch. Dont miss it.

I do get news from the financial TV we have on at work, but I am generally spared this stuff save the most dramatic and news worthy.

GetThePipe @ 11/18/2015 3:15 PM
Harden doesn't care about a Kardashian. His nickname is James Hard-on for a reason.

cant fire the players or really trade them at this point. what else is there to do? coaches are not that expensive in the big picture and probably fastest way to turn things around? IDK

It's a quick fix - but it doesn't ever really seem to be sustainable. Usually implies to me that the roster is built wrong.

I think the Rockets messed up when they let Chandler Parsons go when they tried to get Bosh. Now they have Ariza and Ty Lawson instead of Chandler Parsons.

For that team, I thought Parsons was such a good and dangerous player.

From a Rockets' blog

Do you agree with the Rockets' decision to fire Kevin McHale?

Yes, this team needs a change (36%, 532 Votes)

Don't know, still shocked by the move (22%, 327 Votes)

And if, IF, Lawson is a bit of a drag on the team, it's sad that the coach is fired instead of the GM who made that mess. Not sure what the changes in personal has been over the past year but something is up.

Just got home and saw this,
After Ty Lawson organized a players only meeting yesterday, the Houston Rockets fired coach Kevin McHale just 11 games into the season. The WojBomb on Wednesday morning confirmed the management change.

Yeah, something about Ty Lawson in Houston doesn't seem right. I don't think he'll be there long.

Also weird to me that they let Josh Smith go to the Clippers - he's barely playing on that team.

More from Amick.
. The team had a players-only meeting on Tuesday, and Harden told reporters, "It was a good talk for us. It was good for us to kind of communicate. Each guy said what their role was and how every single night they're going to contribute to that role. After the talk, we had a really good practice. Guys communicated. We worked hard. Now, it's about carrying over. It's about going out there and carrying it to the floor."

While players tried to keep details of the meeting private, two themes emerged, three people told USA TODAY Sports on condition of anonymity because of the sensitive nature of the situation. Harden's play and aloofness have frustrated teammates, and McHale took the brunt of the blame for the team's play. Practices were not resulting in improved play in games.

Lesson learned?

Date a diva and you become one.

Why wsa Lawson, the new guy, the one who called a team meeting?

Why aren't Harden or Howard doing that?

Wonder what Harden's "role" will be on the team?...that should be interesting.

Another case where a team seems to be leadership-challenged. Clearly the guy claiming to be the MVP does not feel that being a leader is part of his job description. Parsons was right to get out of there.

what does this have to do with analytics?? Nothing. Remember that they went ot the WCF and took GS to 6?

C'mon man. This is a situation where the GM and the coach did not get along and perhaps Harden is NBA's new primadona.

ClutchFans has a thread started by an 'insider' saying Morey is on the hot seat. Also, Ainge has offered McHale a job if he wants it.

I have not seen any die hard melo fans that does not love dissing anyone associated with advance analytics. Just saying.

Morey has had a very good run in Houston. No GM's last forever unless you win a chip.

The rockets were huge over achievers last year. Is Morey doing the best job with Personnel? I don't think so.
