Sorry he bothers you so much, seems you struggle to accept there are other ways to win games besides the ones you enjoy watching. 11 times he was top 5 in MVP voting. Im not going to bother counting the all NBA first team, all NBA defense and other individual awards and honors he's picked up along the way to winning 5 titles.

Funny you hate hate hate Kobe, call him disgusting and then say Im angry lol. I dont get you sometimes. You mentioned Denver as team modeled after the analytic algo (which has yet to yield anything of substance.)

The problem with your points and comments is you love and are so fully vested analystics as the new age of the NBA you just cant deal with other views. So you can call Kobe's play disgusting all you want, doesnt make it true, and honestly makes you look silly.

really? I "mentioned Denver as team modeled after the analytic algo"?

Your arguments are all over the place and you are also putting things in my mouth that I never said or believe. You seem to be trying to get a rise out of me for some reason today but I'm not really biting.

I know what Kobe is and if its beautiful to you then GOOD FOR YOU. I don't care for it. If you don't comprehend what that means for me and feel like you need to list his accolades then go ahead.

10 years ago, with people having the mind set that some hold overs like you - have today, people would think that Kobe is still a really great player. The poor guy just has a bad coach and a bad supporting cast. Poor Kobe

Also, I don't think you really have a clue in regards to what I believe about analytics and the more you make assumptions that are wrong the more obvious it is.

I believe in a combination of both the eye test and analytics and belief they are both crucial to achieve success. You can't have a brilliant analytics guy who is a too l nor can you have a great basketball mind/eye guy who does not use analytics in a big way to help him make decisions.

Don't know what you are yelling about. Teams like GSW and the Spurs are from the top few teams the heavily utilize analytics. The Dallas mavericks relied heavily upon it to win a ring. The knicks relied heavily on it to win 54, Cleveland relies heavily on it ... everybody does (now/finally).

Fans not knowing what is going on and coming onto message boards flexing their muscles and slamming hinkie (who is completely unproven and not the face of analytics) is a bit comical. You think that is a valid argument against analytics? If yes, then go for it.

Like briggs in the other thread this morning. "I think that analytics is stupid". You can be like Byron Scott and Charles Barkley (2 genius's) or by the rest of the NBA who is relying heavily on it.

Like Cuban has said, you can join the club or get left behind and be at a big disadvantage.

As far as 3 points shooting, teams will adjust to this and figure out how to hurt its efficiency and then there will be a new adjustments. Then purist will scream "WHAT HAPPEN TO THE FUKKING 3?" WHAT IS WITH ALL THESE STUPID LONG 2'S?"

It is interesting how this debate is two sides of the same coin. Some posters see Bryant as a disgusting player because of his chucking (efficient for usg) "selfish" play and others can look at Harden(efficient!) offense and call him disgusting because of his selfish defense play.

Interesting.

well ... both arguments are valid. Selfish play is selfish play. Nobody should get a pass.

I personally find crappy defense to be less of a "selfish" issue than "chucking".

I hated Amare not so much because of his defense but because of his Usage : Assist rate. He was one of the worst ball hogs I have ever seen. DISGUSTING! And yes, he won rookie of the year and came in high in MVP voting. Who cares ... selfish ball player.

Annnnnnnd a discussion about Kevin McHale being fired so early in the season somehow gets turned into a debate regarding Melo and Kobe, two players who never played for Houston ever. LMAO I love sports forums. Seriously, I'm not being sarcastic.

Well, there was a large billboard with Anthony wearing Lin's #7 Houston uniform put up during the courting period last year...No?

And Kobe did play with Howard...Right?

Strong enough connections for me.

mreinman @ 11/19/2015 3:30 PM
poor mchale. Had to look at Dwight Howards face everyday. what a waste of talent.
martin @ 11/19/2015 3:53 PM
So, on the other hand, McHale was 11 games into a 3 year, $12M extension. 11 games for $12M.

Harden on Bickerstaff last night,
“He was standing up the entire game,” Harden said. “I don’t know if it was (because) it was his first game, he was so excited, but he had that energy. Even when we were down 15, 16 he had that same energy. We were looking over at the bench, he‘s still standing up, coaching, giving us confidence. That goes a long way. That excites us to want to go out, compete even harder.

“It was a huge impact, giving us that confidence from our head coach. No matter how we were going, no matter how many (missed) shots or turnovers we had, we’d look over. The excitement was always there.”

Dwight left about 25 mil on the table to get away from D'Antoni. I don't think they are reunited in Houston.

MReinman, You are a big fan of Harden. I recall you comparing him to Melo, saying you wish Melo was the type of player Harden is. What do you think of the comment McHales wife said about his defense?

I am a fan of hardens offense. Not at all a fan of his defense or a fan of him effin around with the kardashians.

If Harden got Mchale fired for any reason that is not cool and its never cool to not give 100 percent for your coach no matter how good you are. NO EXCUSES.

Harden is a great player no doubt. What he did last year (by himself) in the playoffs was exceptional. Perhaps he was even the MVP last year.

Curry as a player is >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> harden. Harden has some growing up to do. Now all the pressure is on him. Lets see what he does.

Are you serious???

If you REALLY watched the game, you would have noticed that Houston went "ISO HARDEN" for 90% of the game. I thought you hated that kind of selfish play...or do you only hate it when Melo and the Knicks do it?

I love when people who don't watch the games question if I watch the games.

Harden was terrible in the first half and so was the team. Harden went ballistic at the end and many of those plays were ISO's.

I have no problem with ISO's if they are working and if use correctly. He was also getting fouled on every other play. Harden showed how you take over a game.

I have nothing against ISO's at all. MJ was great at it, Lebron was, Dirk was, Wade was ...

you also really need to pass out of ISO's too. If you get tripled teamed and you still chuck it, its nauseating.
