You'd have to still take Towns. Trading down 1 to 2 to get Porzingis might be worthwhile if you could get some nice assets thrown in though.
I just watched KAT highlights and KP is a better prospect.. More fluid and fast on his feet KP is clearly taller.. KP's jump shot is a lot smoother.. Towns is more of a Bangor and he's getting a lot of love from the refs. Towns is bigger not more athletic actually it's not even close.. Towns is very talented I just don't see a high ceiling what you see now is what your going to see for awhile...he's really good.. But with added bulk of KP, KP is a match up nightmare.. Once KP gains the weight he will be a supior player to towns.

you know that if Towns was ours you would be telling us how we have the next Hakeem/Duncan

I don't see ether Duncan or the dream at all in towns game.. They were both more gifted. towns has a long way to go on the finesse side to even come close to the dream or Duncan.. He reminds me of a bigger more talented Marcus Camby with a nicer touch...but honestly my fault for comparing KP to towns it's like comparing apples to oranges..but I still think KP will be better in the long run.
With that said I would not be upset at all if we had towns

Before the fall to 4 he was the guy I thought we should take over OK4.
I'd be very happy with him or Kristaps...good players, good kids, great futures.

Towns in the paint reminds me of Zach Randolph, scrappy.
They are both young and talented. I will stick with KP, because he is a Knicks
,I would take KP over towns without question. KP ceiling is outta sight, where towns I don't see him getting much better towns is a more talented Camby but I don't think you'll ever see towns do thee dream shake or have the fundamentals Duncan possesses. But he'll be a rebounding, blocking machine and average near 19 to 20 a game on a yearly basis.
KP will be in a class all his own. might win a few scoring title's and DPY's and hopefully bring us what we've been craving for more then 40 years.

This is why we can't have nice things.
He's played 12 games for pete's sake.

Yea that's the scary part he's improving at such a rapid pace. In two years your telling me KP will not be amazing.. The only thing that could hold this kid from super stardom in a few years would be injuries. Unlike towns, KP is in a class all his own like Anthony Davis. 7'3 sharpshooting, defensive monsters happen once in a lifetime. Players like Towns come every few years

I'm saying I can wait for two years to start calling him a potential scoring champ AND DPOY. I have no inclination to declare that as a probability after his 12th game.
And how about we wait until he sharpshoots for a week or two before labeling him a sharpshooter.

Exactly::::)))). These dudes around here are drinking from the same alcohol fountain the media is drinking:::))).
If you project Towns and KP in their prime....injury free. I'm taking KP.
Towns will not be able to guard KP.
KP would be able to guard Towns.
I'm assuming in their prime, KP will be stronger, with an even better jumper and driver. Towns will be stronger in the post, but never as agile as KP. Towns projects to be a solid franchise center for years. Both will be HOF caliber. So it just depends on how you want to build your team and what kind of system are you running, when selecting Towns and KP. Then after all the analysis, close your eyes and pick one. Both players will bring a smile to your face.
I'm taking KP just on potential and ceiling. Think about the names people are comparing him to. That says a lot. KG, Dirk, Kirilenko
if the 1984 draft was today would you rather have hakeem olajuwon or charles barkley?

The dream hands down gosh imagine if the Knicks had twin towers of Ewing and the dream... We would have won a lot of championships in the hand checking era
im proud that even though this is a knicks site, we're still intelligent to realize who the better player is
towns> kp because:
1. defense
2. passing
3. dribble drive
4. low post and outside shooting

Not sure he's been bred to be a scoring champ. If I had to predict a high for his career I would be more likely to believe it would be in the 22-25PPG range.
Much more likely to be DPOY than a scoring champ, IMO.
Just want an all-around player who can rise to the occasion when needed. Bring me a few championships and I don't care if he never cracks 20PPG.
Towns was the sure thing on draft night. KP was less known but most felt that he had perhaps the most upside in the draft but also a lot of risk. The talent was there but who knew if he could put on weight and gain enough strength? No way to know he would be able to adjust so fast.
Now that we've seen KP and Towns I think KP is the pick. It's real close tho. KP is taller and smoother overall, which is hard to believe. Both have a ton of heart and desire. Can't go wrong with either guy really. I just like the potential of KP now that I've seen him. When KP puts it all together he could be great. It's so early tho so we have to see how this plays out. Looks good so far. 😎

Your so wrong
1.defense KP who can defend the 3 to the 5 or towns limited to centers
2.passing KP is a way better passer he's only averaging 1.6 turnovers to towns 3.6
3.outside shooting please KP all day every day on towns.
Low post and dribble drive maybe towns but that's now... Again KP can pull off the dream shake..towns will never pull off the dream shake.
Point is their both nice pieces KP just has a way way bigger ceiling... Towns is going to be averaging similar stats as of now for most of his career . Which is pretty darn good hopefully he developes a actual back to the basket game.

kp has a higher ceiling but right now towns is better. how many games have you watched towns play?
1. towns is a game changer on defense. kp is still learning to stay out of foul trouble
2. towns has great vision and therefore attempts more passes. passes that his teammates cant handle or arent ready for. dude has better vision than kp
3. dribble drive - we both agree towns
4. i stated lost post AND outside shooting. meaning the combo of the two. kp is a better shooter (no doubt at all) but towns can score in a variety of ways.
both are good players with great potential (and ill even say kp has more). but right now towns is the better player
