kp has a higher ceiling but right now towns is better. how many games have you watched towns play?

1. towns is a game changer on defense. kp is still learning to stay out of foul trouble
2. towns has great vision and therefore attempts more passes. passes that his teammates cant handle or arent ready for. dude has better vision than kp
3. dribble drive - we both agree towns
4. i stated lost post AND outside shooting. meaning the combo of the two. kp is a better shooter (no doubt at all) but towns can score in a variety of ways.

both are good players with great potential (and ill even say kp has more). but right now towns is the better player

Way off base man. It will take 5yrs to determine which of the 2 will be slightly more impactful and dynamic.

Like others have said it can be KP because he is slightly more versatil & completely unique. KP will excel with way the game is played today whereas like Mreinman said Towns is more of a tradition versatile big like Duncan.

Or 5yrs from now KP could be in and out of the lineup with chronic injuries. But objectively during the draft and today you have to take Towns. Much safer pick

Way off base man. It will take 5yrs to determine which of the 2 will be slightly more impactful and dynamic.

thats the bottom line. but if i had to go with who is the better player RIGHT NOW - its towns

Im not saying KP is Kareem, but I can compare the athletic nature of booth and Kareem played until he was 42 and was basically injury free. Kareem had a grace and was light on his feet.

Really its a genetic thing to be that tall AND have the structure that is not problematic. Some athletes are just "aligned" physically better than others. Some are screwed from day one.

My hope is KP because he is not bulky, rely on great power, awkwardly lanky (Shawn Bradley like)or relying on superior motor /quickness like Bill Walton did can have a long career and be mostly injury free.

Towns will be fine and his potential is high. Maybe the low side of him is Al Horford?

I enjoy the hell of watching KP pluck rebounds from above players. Size matters!

Lol just because he's had one post up highlight pass dose not make him a better passer... Also watching the highlights the refs really give this kid everything... KP dose not get that kinda love from the refs whatsoever. KP's numbers would look better too if he got the harden love towns gets.

He is not rapidly swinging the ball around on the perimeter for an open 3 like Melo did a couple times the other night.

KP has done NOTHING to distinguish himself as a particularly skilled passer. That isn't to say he never will, he just hasn't yet.

He's been as good as we could reasonably expect as is. There is no reason to give him credit for skills that just aren't there, or haven't been seen yet, is all I'm saying.

I just wouldn't say that towns is a better passer yet... I've seen great pass outs from offensive rebounds from KP I'm not really worried if they turn into assists because they both are big men.. And with big men it's more important that they pass the ball out without turning the rock over. It's not like towns is averaging a lot of assists a game.. More turnovers then KP past five games 3.2 to KPs 1.6

Towns right now is scoring off a few mid range j's and driving to the hoop with reckless abandonment. I just don't see that lasting long without injury with recklessly driving to the hoop... KP will have a safer career if he sticks to that dream shake. I don't see towns ever doing a dream shake he seems to have a better Marcus Camby like game right now ..

Gosh their both such awesome prospects ! It's cool that we lucked out as much as we did in KP at 4 to even have this discussion.. I think if the draft were today it would be KP and towns 1-2 prob still towns 1 but we were slotted to get the number 2 pick and I think we got that with KP... I personally would take KP number 1 ... But I see why people would still take towns .... It's really a flip of a coin(health) on who has a better career at this point
