we set the bar so low last year, but still you have to give props to Phil & Fisher for bringing in the right pieces through FA & the draft.
Boston looks to be a team on the rise as well. Would love to see proper rivalry develop.
just imagine if we didn't blow three 4th quarter leads, we would be sitting a top the conference that would have really been mind blowing
If we actually maintain something close to this by the end of the year Phil should hands down win exective of the year

For me the lead blowing is upsetting when we go away from the kind of play that got us the lead in the first place.
If we are playing OK, but an opponent rallies, I can live with it, even if I'm upset.
Its the inability to play consistently that is upsetting, I guess.

And Boston has 3 years of what looks like Brooklyn's lotto picks.
Damn, Brooklyn was stupid to put no protection on those picks.
And everyone is going to have cap space.

The point is few teams play clean 48 min basketball. We all KNOW NBA basketball is a game of runs. Teams closing in the final mins is common. It's just the nature of the game.
In order for a team to rally, something has to occur and it's usually poor execution and not handling more intense defensive pressure well.
I'm in no way suggesting it can't and shouldn't improve. But your record in the NBA and your point differential is a good indication of who you are.
A lot of fans play the accounting game of saying we should have won this and this game. How many also factor in the games that go the other way. The games that YOUR team won that the other teams fans count as games they should have won.
Goes both ways.
Because basketball.
Knicks have been winning off of defensive hustle and rebounding. The offensive execution has been awful late in games. It's something they simply must improve on at some point. When they do this will be a very good team.

The funny thing is Boston has always had a hard time attracting FA. No one wants to go there.

I agree with this.
It's easy to get tunnel vision about the games we woulda coulda shoulda. But probably 2/3 of NBA games are woulda coulda shoulda for one team or the other. Teams make runs, teams go on streaks. It's the nature of the sport.
